Indian students need to pass the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).
It is mandatory to get all your certificates and mark sheets apostilled. An Apostille is a certificate that authenticates the authenticity of a public document. You can get this done at Patiala House, which is part of the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi.
While you technically can apply directly for admission, most Russian medical schools prefer to work with "contractors" who help recruit students from various countries. However, the Ministry of Education & Science of the Russian Federation doesn’t officially recognize any education contractors or consultants. Many of these contractors have sub-agents in India, and sometimes, senior Indian students take on the role of contractors and agents themselves.
The Indian Embassy in Russia has issued a few general guidelines for Indian aspirants. These guidelines are in line with the NMC guidelines and should be followed to successfully study MBBS in Russia and then practice medicine in India.
1. MBBS duration: The MBBS in Russia lasts for six years and is divided into twelve semesters, with two semesters each year.
2. Internship: Students at Russian medical universities must complete a clinical rotation that lasts for at least twelve months.
3. Language requirement: Many Russian medical universities offer courses in English, but Indian students must be proficient in Russian to participate in practical training.
4. Practice Medicine in Russia: To be eligible for a medical practice license in Russia, students must pass an accreditation exam conducted in Russian after their final exams.
