MCAT Score Card Components
MCAT Score 2018: Score Profiles
Typically, candidates receive section wise percentile rank of MCAT scores 2018 along with the section-wise MCAT scores; the percentile rank reflects the percentages of test takers who received the same or lower scores. Apart from that, confidence bands reflect how accurate the candidate’s MCAT score is against each section. There is also an element called score profile which projects the test taker’s individual strengths and weakness across all four sections, namely Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems, Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems, Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behavior, and Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills. This section of the score report can also be used to determine the areas to focus on, and decide whether one wants to retake the exam.
What is MCAT 2018 Confidence Band?
Confidence bands are the tentative range in which the true scores of the test taker lie. It aids in overcoming the discrepancy and distinction between candidates who obtain similar scores. Confidence bands are used to compare the new MCAT scores i.e. post MCAT exam 2015.

What is MCAT 2018 Percentile Ranks?
The MCAT score card 2018 also provides the MCAT score in percentile. The percentile rank of a test taker depicts the percentage of candidates who have obtained the MCAT scores which are similar to or lower than the candidate. The percentile scores project a comparative performance of candidates who appear for the MCAT test. Candidates should note that every year on May 1, the percentile ranks are updated using data from one or more testing years. These annual updates ensure that the percentile ranks reflect the current information about the scores of a candidate. The alterations in the percentile ranks from one year to another reflect meaningful changes in the scores of examinees; rather than year-to-year fluctuations. Updating percentile ranks is consistent with the industry practice.
