How is MCAT Score Calculated?
MCAT comprises four sections. Separate scores are given for each section.
To make an MCAT score report, the raw score of the candidate are calculated for each section. The raw scores are simply the number of the questions answered correctly by the candidate. No penalty will be applicable for incorrectly answered questions.
The raw score of each section is then converted on a score range of 118 (lowest) - 132 (highest). The total MCAT score is the sum of scores from all sections and is represented on a score range of 472-528.
To convert the raw score of MCAT into the score range, the process of equating is followed which takes several factors into consideration such as the small variations in difficulty between sets of questions. This ensures that no matter when the candidate is taking the test, the score will be just and fair.
MCAT Score - What is Percentile Rank?
The score of MCAT is also reported in the form of a percentile rank as it is reported along with each section and the total score. The percentile rank is not the general percentage as one may assume, rather the MCAT percentile is comparative analysis. The percentile rank of scores is the percentage of the test takers who receive the same or lower score than the marks scored by the candidate.

can I get admission in USA medical school after giving MCAT
Hi there.
Yes, admissions committees for medical schools consider your MCAT score, as well as your academic record and supporting materials, to assess your foundation for a successful medical career.
While your MCAT score is a crucial application component, it does not determine your prospects of acceptance. This is why, if you apply wisely, you may get into medical school with a low MCAT score.
