About SAT 2022
College Board conducts the SAT, which is an internationally recognized test for admissions to several universities and colleges in the United States, Canada, Australia, Finland, Singapore, India, and many other countries. SAT is conducted to test the college readiness of the students. The exam is mainly for high school students who want to pursue a college education at participating institutes of the SAT. Typically students in their Junior & senior year at high school (class 11th & 12th) write SAT.
Scores in SAT indicate the college readiness of the student. The SAT test is required by many colleges for pursuing undergraduate education in many countries around the world.
SAT first started in 1926 and has undergone many changes since then, with respect to its name, test structure & syllabus. The current version of SAT was introduced in 2016 to link the exam more closely to the work high school students encounter in the classroom. Some important changes that were made are listed below:
Emphasis on the use of evidence to support answers, a shift away from cramming the insane vocabulary to words that students are more likely to encounter in college and career
An optional essay, which has been dropped completely by the Collegeboard in 2021
All questions have four rather than five or more answer options
Negative marking removed. Scores are given for correct answers, but no scores are deducted for incorrect answers
The Critical Reading section was replaced with two sections on English: the new Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section. All questions are MCQs.
The mathematics syllabus was narrowed to include fewer topics, including algebra, problem-solving, and other pre-calculus topics. The exam has two sections on Maths, one where the calculator is allowed and the other one where it is not.

i have done my 12th in PCB can i do 12 math though NIOS to get the eligibility criteria for abroad and can i get admission in indian engineering colleges with 12 with NIOS with also SAT scores
Hi, you can sit for Maths exam through NIOS. The eligibility criteria for getting into an engineering college would be 50% aggregate in PCM. For studying abroad you will have to appear for English proficiency test. For colleges in India SAT score is not required as many of the colleges do not consider it. You will have to appear for entrance exams such as state level CET or JEE Mains. Either way once you appear for maths you will be eligible for both in India as well as for abroad. Hope this helps.
