International students from Australia, Bangladesh, Nepal, Indonesia, Pakistan, Jordan, South Africa etc., and a few more countries have the facility to register for GRE in offline mode. The offline registration can be done by phone. You can register for the test by contacting ETS regional customer care in your country and convey your details.

How Do I Register for GRE Home Test?

The registration process for the GRE home edition and test centre is almost the same. You just have to choose the testing option as “home location” during the registration process.

Before you register for GRE home test, students should confirm whether the preferred university accepts the GRE home edition scores. As the GRE Home is introduced during the lockdown times to support the individuals to enable safety only some universities accept this home test in the year 2024.

Testing Requirements for GRE Home Edition

To register for the GRE home test, the applicant should meet the at home testing requirements. Check the home edition testing requirements mentioned below.

• An alone room in a private space.

• Tabletop and seating arrangement.

• A laptop or computer, downloaded with ETS secure browser.

• Have an internal or external speaker; headsets or earphones are not allowed.

• Internal or external microphone; It should not be a part of the headset.

• In-built camera or external camera with a 360-degree view of the room.

If you fail to meet these conditions you are not allowed to attempt the test and also you can't receive an exam refund or rescheduling facility.

GRE Slot Booking 2024

In the process of GRE exam registration, the important step is slot booking. Applicants who have already created their ETS account and registered for GRE search service can directly proceed for the GRE test slot booking. A step-by-step procedure to book GRE exam slot is mentioned below:

• Visit the GRE official site at ets.org/gre/test-takers/general-test/schedule

• Under the “Schedule, your GRE General test,” select the testing type GRE General Test or GRE General Test at Home.

• For the test centre option enter the city name and exam date range. Now select the suitable exam date and exam centre.

• Now pick the preferred exam slot or timings.

• Make the payment for GRE exam fee and submit.

Once done you will receive the registration confirmation email to ensure that ETS has booked the GRE slot successfully.

Reschedule GRE - Candidates are required to place the rescheduling request at least 4 days before the GRE test date. This can be done through your ETS GRE account. The GRE test rescheduling fee is Rs. 5000 for applicants in India.

Cancellation of GRE test - Candidates should cancel their GRE test at least 4 days before the GRE exam date to receive a 50% refund of the GRE registration fee. The 100% refund will be given only if the applicant cancels their test within 7 days of GRE registration.

Retaking the GRE exam 2024

If you are not satisfied with your GRE scores you can reattempt the GRE. The GRE General test can be re-attempted once in every 21 days and up to 5 times a year. For the GRE subject test, candidates can retake the test once every 14 days.
