    MIT has five dining halls, nearly 20 retail eateries, and other meal plans which allow students to enjoy food from various cuisines. All the dining halls have a variety of menus serving different kinds of food items starting from fresh veggies, sandwiches, and burgers to fully packed meals. All the meals are freshly prepared to keep hygiene in mind.

    The Massachusetts Institute of Technology provides dining options for breakfast, lunch, brunch, dinner, and snacks. The cafes at MIT include Mccormick, Baker, Forbes Family Cafe, Ambosworth’s Cafe, Koch Cafe, and Steam Cafe which adhere to the dietary guidelines of students applying from all over the world.     MIT has a department of Athletics, Physical Education, and Recreation which indulges in various sports and also organizes various sports events to keep the students physically active. The sports department supports 33 varsity sports — 16 for men, 15 for women, and two co-ed, 25 intramural sports, and 30 sports clubs for badminton singles and couples, hockey, Air pistol, and more. The department believes in promoting health and fitness through sports, recreation, and physical education.

    Swimming Pool

    • Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center has an Olympic-size swimming pool, a smaller teaching pool, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and a fully staffed sports medicine center.
    • Alumni Pool & Wang Fitness Center has lap and instructional pools, a fitness floor with stationary machines and free weights, a group exercise studio, and a spin studio.

    MIT subsidizes 50% of the cost of an MBTA public transportation pass (or "T-pass"), which is available in a variety of choices, either monthly or as a semester bus and subway pass for even greater savings:
