    The University of Sydney is a Public Research University, established in 1850 in Sydney, Australia. It is the oldest University in Australia. The University comprises 8 faculties providing Bachelor’s, Master’s and Research Degree Programs to both domestic and international students. The faculties are Architecture, Design and Planning, Arts and Social Sciences, Business, Engineering, Law, Medicine and Health, Science and Conservatories of Music.

    The University of Sydney, Sydney offers a Doctor of Medicine programme to all candidates who are aspiring to study in the field of medicine. The programme duration is 48 months (4 years). All applicants must have a bachelor's degree with a strong academic record, along with a satisfactory score on the GAMSAT or MCAT admissions test.     The University of Sydney Cost Of Living

    The living cost at the University of Sydney is approximately 21,041 AUD (INR 11,45,655) per year for an international student. A single student will require at least 1,754 AUD (INR 95,503) per month for accommodation, food, utilities and entertainment.     The University of Sydney Admission and Application

    The University of Sydney admissions process requires students to check the entry requirements of the course they wish to pursue. Applicants must fulfil all the entry requirements of the selected degree program before applying at the University. The University of Sydney has designed a Foundation Program (USFP) to assist international students who do not meet the entry requirements of the desired Undergraduate course.

    University of Sydney admissions: How to Apply?

    The steps to apply for admission at the University of Sydney are as follows:

    • Visit the official website of the University of sydney.edu.au.

    • Go to ‘Study’ and click on ‘Find a Course’.

    • The Course Search Page will open.

    • Click on the selected course.

    • Check the entry requirements.

    • Click on the ‘Apply now’ button.

    • Click on Apply directly after selecting the entry year.

    • Click on the New Applicant and register.

    • The login credentials will be sent to the registered email ID of the applicant.

    • Login to Registered Applicant and fill the application form.

    • Scan and upload the required documents and submit the application.

    Applicants will receive a response from the University, after which they will have to pay the application fee. This completes the process of application. International students may also need to complete an additional GTE (Genuine Temporary Entrant) assessment as part of the University's application process. 

    Application Fee of the University of Sydney  

    The students applying for the admission at the University of Sydney have to pay the application fee of 150 AUD (INR 8,167). The application fee is non-refundable.

    • Higher Secondary School (class 12th) Certificate, equivalent to Year 12 in Australia.

    • Bachelor or equivalent degree recognised by University of Sydney.

    • English Proficiency Test Scores (IELTS/TOEFL).

    The international students can also apply through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC). In order to do so, the applicants must fulfil the following criteria:

    • Currently studying Australian Year 12 in or outside Australia.

    • Currently studying International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma in Australia.

    The University of Sydney Eligibility

    The eligibility criteria to get admission at the University of Sydney is provided under the list of degree programmes. Applicants can check their eligibility under the selected degree course. The minimum eligibility to get admission at the University of Sydney is as follows:

    • Applicants should be at least 17 or more than 25 years of age at the time of admission.

    • Applicants must meet the minimum educational qualifications required to take admission in the selected course or degree program at the University of Sydney.

    • Applicants must have completed the education required for a particular degree course, from a recognised institution.

    • Applicants should meet the English Language Proficiency Requirements of the University.

    The University of Sydney Library is located at 14 different locations across campuses of Darlington/ Camperdown, Camden and Sydney CBD.
