• For Step 3, Step 2 (CK), and Step 1, the USMLE programme introduced updated examination software. Now, the official testing platform is the updated interface.

3. Designated Testing Dates Transition

• The transition of designated testing dates is one of the major updates announced on the official website of the USMLE. From 2028, USMLE exam dates throughout the year will not be available. The USMLE exam will be conducted on the announced designated dates. The officials are planning to increase test centres in 2028, as there will be only designated USMLE test dates from 2028.

• However, this update will not apply to candidates taking the USMLE test in 2027. Until the 2028 transition, testing appointments will be available as per the current scheduling system.
