IELTS Registration - Students planning to study overseas should register for IELTS with the International Development Program (IDP). Registration is open to students to book their IELTS examination centre and slot. Visit the official website to register for the upcoming exam date at ieltsidpindia. IDP is the conducting body for the IELTS exams for aspirants travelling abroad. IELTS test scores are accepted as proof of English ability for higher education in countries like Australia, the United Kindom, and Canada, where English is the official language. The IELTS registration process is the first step in booking the IELTS exam slot. Candidates pursuing higher studies abroad need to register with IDP online or offline for the IELTS academic exam to be eligible for admission into universities outside India. Aspirants can register for the IELTS exam in multiple ways.
Register Online through the official website, ieltsidpindia. Pay the test fee using a Debit or Credit Card.
Visit the IDP Branch in person to register.
Courier the IELTS registration form and pay the test fee in the Demand Draft or deposit slip.
IDP IELTS registration online in five steps. Applicants can proceed with the IELTS slot booking by following the below-mentioned steps.
Step 1 - Register For IELTS Test: Visit the official IELTS website, ieltsidpindia. Select ‘Register for IELTS’ from the category. A drop-down box will appear in the section. Next, click on ‘Book Now’.
Step 2 - Test Type: Decide the mode of exam preferred from the options - Computer-Delivered IELTS, Computer-Delivered IELTS for UKVI, Pen and Paper Based IELTS, Pen and Paper Based IELTS for UKVI.
Step 3 - Test Module: Candidates are to select the test module as ‘ Academic’.
Step 4 - Choose City for the IELTS Test: Applicants need to choose the desired city in which they would like to take the IELTS test. Select the test centre nearest to avoid any inconvenience.
Step 5 - Select the date and time: Pick the most convenient IELTS exam date and time from the list to appear for the IELTS test. The option to pick from a list makes it easy for the aspirant to sit for the test without having to worry about fitting the exam test into the daily schedule.
Step 6 - Finish the IELTS online registration: Fill out the required details to complete the IELTS registration form.
Step 7 - Upload Documentation: Upload valid passport details like ID No, Validity, and Date of Birth.
Step 8 - Review: Check all uploaded documents are reviewed and correct before submitting.
Step 9 - Pay The Application fee: Candidates can pay the IELTS Registration fees either through Visa or Mastercard credit or debit card. Check the card validity and active online transactions to avoid any payment failure.
Candidates can visit any nearest IDP IELTS branch and register through the following two methods.
Method - 1
Candidates registering in person can visit any IDP branch/Head office.
Check the IELTS eligibility before proceeding with the IELTS test registration. Now, fill out the registration form available at the IDP office.
Sign the ‘Terms & Conditions’ section of the registration form and attach relevant documents.
Attach a photocopy of the passport on the first and last page of the registration document.
Pay the test fee with a valid credit card or debit card, or
Make a demand draft in the name of IDP Education India Private Limited, payable at New Delhi. Check the list in the terms & conditions document to be aware of the approved banks that accept demand draft.
Cash submission can done in an ICICI bank branch through a deposit slip.
Before making the payment, the IDP branch submits the registration form in the system online and provides an acknowledgement slip of the test booking along with the expected seat booking.
Method - 2
Visit the IDP office to register online using the computer. Fill out the registration form and pay the fee to book the slot. An email will soon sent to the registered mobile number or email ID confirming the booking.
Submit a passport copy.
Sign the terms & conditions document and submit it.
An acknowledgement letter confirming the seat booking is sent instantly.
Visit the nearest IDP office or download the registration form online at ieltsidpindia.
Fill out the IELTS registration form.
Check the ‘Terms and Conditions’ stated on the document before signing.
Submit a copy of your passport.
Attach a Deman Draft with the test fee amount In favour of “IDP Education India Private Limited, New Delhi”.

The registration for the IELTS test process will begin after receiving the test fee payment receipt and documents. The seat allotment date selection will be as per availability.

The tests for IELTS are conducted four times a month. The IELTS academic section is available on all 48 dates. The tests are held on Saturday and Thursday to create flexibility and convenience for the candidates.

Reschedule or cancel the IELTS exam must be supported with proper documents validating the reason, without which the applicant will stand null and void.
Candidates looking to reschedule the IELTS test should fill out the Test Date Transfer & Cancellation Form to reschedule the test for another date. The request must reach the test centre five weeks before the original exam date. The allocation of the next IELTS date will be at the discretion of the test centre and seat availability. A fee of Rs. 2,325 will be charged to reschedule the IELTS test date. The payment can be made through a Debit Card, Credit Card or Bank Deposit. Requests less than five weeks before the test date will be allowed for rescheduling.
Applications for cancellation of the IELTS Test must be sent to the centre after filling out the Transfer & Cancellation Form with the original payment receipt of the test fee. A cancellation charge of Rs. 2,325 will be deducted from the examination fee paid by the applicant. If the application form is received five weeks before the examination date, the remaining balance of Rs. 6,975 will be refunded to the applicant within four weeks from the test date for the registered IELTS test. Cancellations that are received less than 5 weeks before the test date will not be refunded the amount paid for the test.

For admission in universities of outside india, you need to start your application process a year or minimum a six months prior to your intake. For example if you are planning to go in Fall of 2023 then you need to start working on your application from October or November 2022. Application process takes really long in universities of USA/Canada or any other countries
If you are planning to appear for IELTS in October slot then you can plan your intake after the spring of 2023 which means you can go for MS and start your program after May 2023 since documents verification, visa process will take a considerate amount of time. So you need to plan everything accordingly.
