About GMAT Focus Edition 2024
What is GMAT exam? GMAT is a computer-based adaptive test conducted by GMAC. GMAT is taken by students seeking admission to master’s programmes in the field of management, business or MBA. The GMAT full form is Graduate Management Admission Test. Through GMAT exam, the test takers can enroll in business or management-related courses in top B-schools across the world. GMAT 2024 evaluates the analytical, writing, quantitative, verbal, and reading skills of an individual. GMAT exam has been replaced by the GMAT Focus Edition from February 1. 2024. As per the latest update, the GMAT Focus Edition 2024 is shorter than the old GMAT, with a total test time of 2 hours and 15 minutes compared to 3 hours and 7 minutes in the old version.
Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) introduced the GMAT exam - focus edition is an entrance exam for getting admission into business schools to more than 7000 programs provided by 2400 universities worldwide. GMAT focus edition official preparation is available from June 6, 2023. Registration for the GMAT Exam - Focus Edition has been started on August 29, 2023, while the testing is scheduled to begin on November 7, 2023. The GMAT Exam Dates 2024 are still available up to early 2024.

The GMAT focus edition is similar to the current GMAT exam, it is a computer-based test that can be attempted from home or at a test centre. Changes in the Test Pattern: GMAT Focus Edition
- GMAT exam - focus edition duration will be 2 hours and 45 minutes (exclusive of one optional break of 10 minutes).
- There will be three 45-minute sections and no essay. Candidates can attempt sections in any order.
- Candidates can now bookmark and review as many GMAT questions as they want.
- A new section called Data Insights (DI) will be introduced in the GMAT focus edition syllabus, while sentence correction will be removed.
- The GMAT exam - focus edition score scale will be 205-805. All three sections will be weighed equally towards the total score.
- The 2 reasoning sections of “Quantitative Reasoning & Verbal” will be the same in the GMAT exam syllabus. The syllabus of the newly added data insights section is the only difference.
Data Insights - This section measures the ability to analyse and interpret data and how you can apply it to real-world business scenarios. The questions require the concepts of maths, analysis, and verbal reasoning for solving. A total of 20 questions in the types of data sufficiency, multi-source reasoning, table analysis, graphics interpretation, and two-part analysis are followed in the exam.

GMAT is conducted across different states in India. Students must book the GMAT test centre and date at least 2-3 months prior to the exam. What is the difference between GMAT and CAT Exam?
GMAT or Graduate Management Admission Test and CAT or Common Admission Test are widely popular among the business schools for giving admission to their programmes including the top business schools and IIMs as well. The GMAC (Graduate Management Admission Council) which conducts the GMAT exam - focus edition does not have eligibility criteria for the GMAT exam. Candidates planning to take the GMAT focus edition exam must have a government ID at the time of the exam. GMAT exam eligibility criteria 2024 is mentioned below.

GMAT Exam Fees 2024
The GMAT exam fee in India is USD 300 for the online format and USD 275 for the test center format. A new section called data insights is introduced by removing the previous Integrated Reasoning and Analytical Writing Assessment section. Consequently, the time duration has also been decreased by 1 hour from the existing GMAT test. During the GMAT exam, the candidate can review any question by bookmarking them and can edit up to 3 answers per section.
