The University allows students to choose from 150 fields of research, among which, some are: additive manufacturing, drug development, domestic violence and sustainable design. Over 6,000 Monash University courses are offered in 10 faculties: Art, Design and Architecture, faculty of Arts, business and economics, education, engineering, information technology, law, medicine, nursing and health sciences, pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences and faculty of science. While undergraduate admissions happen in rolling mode, students can apply throughout the year for graduate courses. Usually, UG students are recommended to send their applications by late September.

Monash University, Melbourne is one of the top public universities worldwide. It ranks in the 42nd position according to the QS World University rankings 2024, rising from 57th position in 2023. The University ranked at #44 according to The Time Higher Education report of 2023. Many courses offered by the university, like Engineering, Business Administration, and Education have been ranked #1 in Australia, according to The Times Higher Education ranking of 2023. Monash offers students courses in every subject, from media and communication to engineering. Select a course: Applicants need to choose the best course that they fit in and they can do that by going through the course list given below.
Check the entry requirements for the chosen course: Once applicants have found the course that suits them, they need to check the eligibility criteria for that course and make sure that they meet them.
Apply online: After collecting all the documentation, the next step is to go to monashpartner.force.com/admissions/s/ and sign up as a student, after which you will be able to apply through the official application form.
Next, applicants will collect the required documents and submit them through the form.
Make changes to your application: Candidates will receive a login ID so they can save their application to complete it later or change their information before submitting it. After the application deadline, the applicants will need to wait for the offer from the university, which they will get only based on their merit and application details.
Offer: After getting an offer from the university, the next step is to apply for a student visa and send the university the remaining documents like proof of payment etc. Applicants can also deflect the offer if that is what they want.
The application fees for any course is the same. International applicants must pay a $100 application fee.

Monash University, Melbourne, provides financial aid to financially disadvantaged students, and students from remote regions. The scholarships provided by the university do not only help students financially, but also provide them with opportunities, and provide them access to study and social support.
International students become automatically eligible for a number of merit-based scholarships offered by Monash at the time of submitting their admission application. The university offers up to AUD 59,100 (32,43,534 lakh INR) for various courses. Students can also apply for many other scholarships in Australia that are offered by external sources.

Students need to meet certain criteria set by the university for undergraduate students, it’s the following:
Applicants need to have satisfactory completion of final year secondary school, or equivalent, including English
English language requirements of IELTS, TOEFL etc. The minimum band required for IELTS is 6.5.
Age requirements: Students need to be at least 17 years old when applying, although there are some exceptions.
Academic score: 60-70%
The score students need to get for their SATs is 1120-1290.
For Postgraduate students:
Students applying for a master's in Monash need to have completed a Bachelor degree (honours) in the same field or a related one.

Monash University libraries are spread over all campuses, in three continents. They together hold over 3.2 million items. There are 6 more libraries at Monash University– Matheson Library, Caulfield Library, Hargrave Andrew Library, Indonesia Library, Law Library, Peninsula Library, and Pharmacy Library. At each facility, students can use a computer, borrow books with a Monash University ID card, print, photocopy, scan, and book discussion rooms project groups, as well as attend workshops and classes.
There are 28 dining and eating outlets in Clayton campus, Monash University. They include cafes, restaurants and coffee shops. Some of the cafeterias include Nesso Cafe, Grafalis Cafe, The Halls Cafe, Church of Secular Coffee, Cinque Lire Cafe, along with full service facilities. Nesso Cafe is a boutique cafe for quality coffee and snacks. Grafalis Cafe at Monash University offers deli-style toasted sandwiches, wraps, salads, rice-paper rolls and pastries, along with coffees. There’s a Subway at Clayton campus. Caulfield campus has 6 cafeterias, Parkville campus has 2, and Peninsula campus has 2 facilities.
Monash University has over 50 club sports. Every year, more than 600 Monash students compete at the Australian University Games, which is the largest of any Australian University. There are sports facilities for football, hockey, cricket, rugby, soccer, and baseball, tennis, badminton, and squash courts, along with gyms and a swimming pool. There are opportunities for social sports as well. Sports facilities of Monash University are often used by many professional sporting teams in Australia. The Australia national association football team used the Clayton campus to train for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
The Doug Ellis Swimming Pool is Monash’s aquatic sport facility that is open to the public as well as the university community. It has two 25 metre pools with a total of 12 lanes and a sauna, spa and steam room. One of the pools has a variable depth floor that can be adjusted from 0 to 2.1 metres. It is made for beach entry activities, water polo or SCUBA diving. Training and coaching sessions such as Infant Aquatics, Swim learning, Swim fit classes are provided at this pool facility in Monash University.
Students have all modes of transport to reach Monash University Campuses at Clayton, Caufield, Parkville, and Peninsula. Public transport, trams, inter-campus bus shuttle services, car shares, bicycling are some of the options to travel around Monash University Campuses. Melbourne metropolitan buses connect the Clayton campus to all important locations in Melbourne including Huntingdale railway station that’s 10 min away. There are bike shops to buy, parking facilities, lockers, showers and bike repair tools for bicycles. Inter-campus shuttle services are free of charge on M-ID cards.
Monash University has Parking facilities for students, staff, special permits, people with limited mobility, and visitors, as well as event parking. All the traffic rules of Victoria are applicable at all University parking facilities. There are free parking facilities for motorbikes, bicycles. Students can use paid parking on a “Pay as you use” basis by using the CellOPark campus app. Vehicles parked in Blue permit and Red permit zones are chargeable. Students have to register on the CellOPark app, and enter time when parking. Based on time, charges will be levied. There are also Electric charging stations on the campus. Car sharing, carpooling is encouraged to reduce the use of parking spaces.

Students, faculty and staff can choose either university affiliated or suggested rental facilities or private housing facilities while studying at Monash University.
Types of off campus accommodation include single, double room apartments to dorm style rooms with 5/6 sharing.
Average rent for rooms ranges from $250 to $400 per week with Laundry, internet, shared kitchen facilities.
Many accommodations have meal plan facilities also.
Most rooms are furnished with a TV set, freezer and a Microwave.
International Indian students should have passed 12th standard with 60-70% for undergraduate programmes and bachelor’s degree (honors) with 60-65% for graduate programmes. Additionally students also have to meet English language requirements in IELTS/TOEFL/PTE/SAT/ACT.

Monash University acceptance rate is 40% for international students. The university has reasonable admission requirements for both UG and PG courses. Students applying for UG must have XII or Australian equivalent, IELTS(6.5)/TOEFL (79)/PTE (58), along with SAT score of 1120-1290 and ACT score of 22-27. PG applicants must have a bachelor’s degree. TOEFL PBT is also accepted for PG applicants.
