LNAT UK Exam 2027 - Dates, Registration, Syllabus & Pattern

In order to be eligible for LNAT 2026-27: 

• Students must have completed their secondary education (class 12 or equivalent) when applying for admission. Students currently doing their 12th who are expected to complete it before the program begins at the university are also eligible to apply.

• Although there is no fixed age requirement for this test, they should at least be of the age required to be enrolled in an undergraduate program (in the participating university).

These are the eligibility criteria for LNAT for Indian students as well as for any student appearing for this examination all over the world. 

The LNAT 2026-27 registrations will open on August 1, 2026 for admission to all participating universities. The LNAT UK 2026-27 registration deadline for Cambridge and Oxford applicants is September 15, 2026. Candidates must note that 2028 Deadlines for King’s College London (KCL) – London School of Economics (LSE) – and University College London (UCL) is December 31, 2026. For JGLS and all other LNAT universities except the University of Bristol and the University of Durham, the LNAT UK 2026-27 registration deadline is January 20, 2027. Pearson VUE manages the LNAT exams. Before appearing for this test, students must complete the two-step registration process using the Pearson VUE online registering system.

A Step-by-Step Guide to Filling out the LNAT Application Form 2026-27

To apply for LNAT UK 2026-27, students need to complete the application process through the official website of LNAT. 

Here are the steps:

Step 4: Fill and complete the registration form (personal information, educational background, university choices, test centre selection)

Step 5: Pay the LNAT registration fee (it may vary as per the country of the test centre)

LNAT 2026-27 Registration

For LNAT 2026-27, registrations will open on August 1, 2026 and the test window will start from September 1, 2026.  You can take the LNAT exam once in an academic cycle.

LNAT 2026-27 Important Dates

The duration of LNAT is 2 hours 15 minutes and is divided into two sections:

Section A: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) 

The first section of the Law National Aptitude Test LNAT exam has 42 questions for 12 passages. Students are required to answer all the questions within 95 minutes. This section tests how well a student is able to comprehend the passages and answer the questions. A computer checks this, and students get marks out of 42, which is also known as the LNAT score.  

Section B: Essay

The second section of the LNAT test is essay writing, where it is assessed how well a student can build a compelling argument and reach a crisp conclusion. They get 40 minutes to write an essay from a list of three proposed subjects. This section is checked by the LNAT universities (the universities that students have applied to). However, this section does not contribute to the LNAT score. 

LNAT Syllabus 2026-27 Cycle

Section-Wise LNAT 2026-27 Syllabus 

The LNAT 2026-27 syllabus has two sections - objective and descriptive. Candidates get a total of 2 hours 15 minutes to attempt both the sections.

Objective Section

The first section is the objective section, which has 12 argumentative passages. There are 3-4 multiple-choice questions for each passage. Candidates have read and understand the passages and then answer. The time duration for completing 42 MCQs is 95 minutes and there is no negative marking in LNAT exam for incorrect answers.

Descriptive Section 

In the descriptive section, candidates are given a topic to write a 750-word argumentative essay. From the three choices given, they need to select one for the essay and complete it in 40 minutes.

Which Skills are Evaluated in LNAT Exam? 

The LNAT exam tests the candidate’s skills, aptitude and suitability to pursue a law programme. The following are the skills that are evaluated. 

• Verbal reasoning skills of the candidate

• Ability to comprehend and interpret information

• Analyse and draw logical conclusions through the given information

• Critical thinking and legal reasoning abilities

• Command over English language

To clear this exam, students must devote time to LNAT preparation by following these tips. 

• Regularly read quality newspapers, journals, and opinion pieces to develop critical thinking abilities. 

• Work on LNAT mock tests and LNAT practice tests to understand the format and types of questions in LNAT exams. 

• Practice writing a wide range of essays to build the skills of coherent writing and logical flow of ideas. 

• Participate in debates, discussion groups, and solve puzzles to boost critical thinking skills. 

You will not receive your LNAT score immediately after appearing for it. LNAT scores usually tend to be released to candidates a few weeks after the examination. 

You should check your result through the official LNAT website by logging into your account. The date of access to your score will be given in the confirmation email or on the LNAT website.
