    About King's College

    King’s College London was founded by the Duke of Wellington and King George IV, who granted the royal charter in 1829. Kings is one of the two founding colleges of the University of London. It is recognised as one of the oldest universities in the UK. King’s College has five campuses at St Thomas’, Strand, Waterloo, Denmark Hill, and Guy’s. The Denmark Hill campus is home to the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, while the Waterloo campus is home to the Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing & Midwifery. Kings College London is known for its studies of humanities, law, science, psychiatry, medicine, dentistry, nursing, and the social sciences.

    King's College Admission and Application

    How to apply for Kings College London admissions?

    Candidates applying for undergraduate and postgraduate courses can follow the steps mentioned below for Kings College London admission. Students applying for UG courses have to submit their application through UCAS from September 1 for entry the following autumn. 

    For undergraduate courses

    • Visit the official website - ucas.com. 

    • Register to the ‘UCAS’ website. 

    • Search ‘Kings College London’ and then search for the desired course. 

    • Fill in all the personal details such as name, email ID, phone number, residency status, etc and answer the questions asked about personal circumstances, how you are planning to fund your education, and so on. 

    • Enter all the educational details and submit the supporting documents. 

    • Submit the employment history and now, select the course. 

    • Write a personal statement and submit the reference as well. 

    • Now, submit the application. 

    • Kings College London will now review the application and the status will be intimidated to the students via registered email ID. 

    For Postgraduate courses

    • Visit the official website - kcl.ac.uk. 

    • On the home page, check the header section and click on ‘Study’ followed by ‘Postgraduate Taught’. 

    • Search the course and check all the requirements and other information before filling up the application form.

    • Now go to the course page and click on the ‘Apply’ button. 

    • Fill in all the required details and submit the required documents. 

    • Submit the application fees. 

    • The status of the application will be shared via email.

    King's College Eligibility

    Students coming from various countries have to meet some specific eligibility criteria set for their respective countries. The exact eligibility criteria may vary from country to country. Some programmes offered will have specific grades required for Kings College London admission along with compulsory subject areas or state-preferred subject areas. 

    • For Kings College London admission to undergraduate courses, candidates must have completed +2 level of education from a recognised educational board. 

    • It is mandatory for applicants to qualify any of the English language proficiency tests i.e. IELTS (score of 7.5 overall and 7.0 in each skill), PTE academic (75 overall with a minimum of 69 in each communicative skill), Cambridge Advanced Certificate (191 overall with a minimum 185 in each skill), etc. However, applicants currently studying at a US university are exempted from providing proof of English language proficiency.

    Below are the postgraduate eligibility criteria for some countries.

    • India - Applicants from India must have taken a three-year bachelor (honours) or bachelor (special) degree from a recognised university. An average of 70 to 75 per cent of marks are required in the bachelor's degree to be eligible for PG courses. 

    • US - Applicants must have completed at least a bachelor degree from a recognised institution in the United States of America. A minimum GPA of 3.7 out of 4.0 is required to be eligible for admission. 

    • Italy - Postgraduate courses - Applicants must have completed a Laurea from a recognised institution in Italy with a minimum of 100 out of 110 scores.

    • France - Applicants must have completed a Licence avec Grade de Licence from a recognised institution in France or 3 years of study at a member institution of the Conférence des Grandes écoles with a minimum score of 11 out of 20.

    Kings College London is home to many campus libraries such as IoPPN library, Weston education centre library at Denmark Hill campus, new hunt's house and wills library at  Guy's, St Thomas' house located near Waterloo campus, The Maughan library at Strand, and Franklin-Wilkins library at Waterloo campus. All the libraries have a number of books and other online resources for the students of Kings College London. There is a wide range of ebooks, journals, online databases and other study materials available for students.

    The College has access to expert tech analysts via the IT Service Desk 24/7, 365 days a year. On-campus IT support is available at TechBars between 10 am - 4 pm, Monday to Friday.     King’s Sports offers a variety of sports facilities for the students of Kings College London. The KIng’s sports have around 15000 members engaged in a variety of sports and wellness activities such as football, yoga, dance, etc. The university runs a BeActive programme, a social sports session to support top-performing athletes. Kings College London offers university sports scholarships to eligible students to support their studies and sports. 

    There are a number of gyms at the Strand, Waterloo and London Bridge campuses. Students can install an in-house app called King’s Move that rewards students for being active. Students can earn points by walking, running, cycling or swimming and redeem them on various activities.

    Kings College, London is well connected with all the major modes of transportation. Tube, and buses, are some cheaper options that students can avail of while commuting to the college premises. Students can apply for a Student Oyster card, or Railcard for transportation. If a student is living near the campus then he/she can walk or ride a bicycle. TfL Go app, the TfL Oyster and contactless app are some of the apps that will make transportation in the city manageable. 

    King's College Accommodation

    The accommodation in UK is available for undergraduate and postgraduate students at King's Residence. This can accommodate around 6000 students. The King’s Residences have a variety of staying options such as Wolfson House, Stamford Street Apartments, Orchard Lisle and Iris Brook, Angel Lane, among others. The minimum rent starts from £160.00 per week and the maximum can go by £335.00 per week. The King’s Residence has all the modern amenities such as wifi, a study area, laundry room, etc.
