About London School of Economics and Political Science

  • The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) is a public research university, which is a part of the University of London. It was established in 1895 by Sidney Webb, Beatrice Webb, Graham Wallas, and George Bernard Shaw. LSE became a constituent college of the University of London in 1900. The London School of Economics and Political Science has also formed academic partnerships in teaching and research with six universities including Columbia University, New York, University of California, Berkeley, Peking University, Beijing, National University of Singapore, Asia, University of Cape Town, Africa and Sciences Po in Paris, Europe.

  • Applicants seeking admissions are required to register online and download their application forms for admissions.
  • Candidates must submit their forms by submitting all required documents and after paying the amount of application fee.
  • Students can apply for admissions once their application form gets approved.
  • GRE or GMAT scores also might have to be submitted for admission to certain programmes.
  • Candidates will get admissions after completing the process of document verification and payment of admission fee.

London School of Economics and Political Science Eligibility

  • International students have the mandatory rule to submit their proof of English proficiency by submitting test scores of Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System Academic (IELTS Academic) or Pearson Test of English (Academic) (PTEA) or Trinity ISE or Cambridge English Scale or Duolingo English test.
  • Students who are facing difficulties in taking any of these above tests can also prove their English proficiency through the LSE Language Assessment.
  • Students without a UK undergraduate or graduate degree are required to submit their GRE or GMAT scores.
  • For students interested in taking admissions to graduate programmes they need to complete their bachelor degree or equivalent from an accredited institute and for admissions to undergraduate programmes, students must mandatorily complete their high school education.

  • The library is provided with a vast collection of 4 million printed volumes, 60,000 online journals and 29,000 e-books. The library is located in the Lionel Robbins Building which was founded in 1896 and is considered the largest library for social and political sciences of the United Kingdom and Commonwealth. LSE staff and students also have the benefit of booking one of the study rooms in the Library individually. Students can also contact the department librarian if they need any help regarding using the library and its resources.
