Top Courses to Study in Canada
: One of the most peaceful and naturally beautiful countries in the world, Canada has been upping the ante in the field of higher education for quite some time now. What is amazing is that Canada boasts of a staggering 26 universities in the QS world ranking top 800 universities in the world. It is this amazing grip the country has on higher education that every year more than one lakh students travel to Canada for higher education, many of whom hail from Asia and other countries.

With so many universities in the top echelon and, that too, cutting across disciplines, whether it is B-schools or Medical colleges, whatever may be your field of study, Canada won’t let you down, unless of course you have the qualification that is needed to get into these world-renowned universities. But while universities in Canada cater to almost all major disciplines, there are some courses that are more popular than others for a variety of reasons.

So, here is our pick of top courses to study in Canada:

Business Management: It has almost become a cliché to study MBA in Canada or elsewhere. The reasons are many: for one, an MBA degree helps you acquire new skill sets and enhance your knowledge, which in turn helps you earn more than those without an MBA degree. Also, with better networking skills you are more in charge of your life and career which brings inner peace and career success. The great thing about universities like McGill University and University of British Columbia is that they not only equip you with the tools to succeed in your professional life, but through their strong alumni network and corporate connections, thrust you right in the middle of where the action is which helps you get a head start in your career.

If you have decided to study in Canada, start the preparation well in advance. Do research on stuff like health insurance plan, since it is mandatory for getting admission to the top universities. You may even want to include travel insurance in the list as it will provide cover against unexpected ticket cancellation, baggage loss, or a medical emergency which may happen in the middle of the trip. Another thing to do, especially since studying abroad is quite costly, is to read on work during study opportunities in Canada. Many students are known to finance their own studies by taking up part-time jobs and in some cases even full-time jobs, like when there is a holiday, to not only make some quick bucks but to reduce the financial burden of their families. And don’t forget the stream of scholarships that are tailor made for guys like you and offered by many different organizations.

So, keep your eyes open and you will be able to complete your studies in Canada without the slightest bit of financial trouble.

after my mbbs in india.how can i become doctor in canada.. I mean what i have to study there i want to know info about all exam and all imp info

Suryashis Chakraborty 23rd Feb, 2020

Hello Arsheen,

After acquiring the much coveted MBBS degree from India, an Indian doctor may wish to try his / her luck up abroad in Canada and try to become a doctor, only after the fulfillment of certain official formalities:

  • The basic requirement for an  Indian doctor in Canada  is to get a valid medical license for the province, where one wishes to practice. One has to pass the certification exams in the concerned province through the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
  • This licensing procedure requires a foreign doctor to go through a series of examinations and get certified based on eligibility, program selection, qualifying the exam followed by final certification
  • The doctors have to also undergo language proficiency tests, credentialing, postgraduate training and assessment, return-of-service agreements, etc.

Indian doctors can discuss and explore the field of Medical Science in Canada through the study groups for the Medical Council of Canada Evaluating Exam (MCCEE), provided by some immigrant-friendly organizations.

The governing body of the medical practices in the concerned Province of Canada can give guidance regarding the formalities and fees required for licensing.

Acquiring a medical license in Canada is a tedious and complicated  process and may take up to 5-6 years. An Indian doctor is advised to be well prepared and equipped with financial backup and tenacity in order to have a shot at becoming a doctor in Canada.

Provinces like Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, Labrador, Quebec, Saskatchewan, Prince Edward are some good provinces to work as a doctor in Canada.

Hope this helps you. We wish you the best for your future endeavours!

Regards
