Medical colleges and universities in India enrol students for the MBBS course based on their NEET scores. Unlike foreign colleges, Indian institutions solely prioritise NEET score over 12th-grade marks, extracurricular activities, and scholastic achievements. Although the NEET exam evaluates students’ ability to score in preliminary subjects for the medical course, prioritising NEET marks and enrolling students based on category precludes some deserving students from studying MBBS.
Most of the students assume that it is impossible to study MBBS if they fail to clear the NEET exam. To be honest, it is not entirely true, as there are numerous ways to study MBBS if students fail to clear the exam. Apart from the Indian medical colleges, all foreign colleges enrol students who fail to clear the exam. So, students who do not qualify for NEET can study MBBS abroad without the exam.
