How are Indian Students Safe in USA after H1B Visa Fee Hike?

In USA, international students contribute over $42 billion each year to the economy. This is because they pay their tuition and cost of living in USA. If the international students decreases in USA, the universities would struggle with funding. Moreover, with the H1B visa fee hike for new applicants, which is a work permit for international skilled workers, international students can still enroll themselves in top universities in USA. This is because they are currently not that affected by the new policy.

Moreover, master’s graduates have the opportunity to work for up to three years under Optional Practical Training (OPT) after they finish their degree. The students who enrolled in 2025 have time till 2029 to apply for an H1B. As mentioned before, the H1B 100k visa fee hike is only valid for 1 year; students will not be impacted.
