Throughout the University, there are student organisations built on connecting interests, sports and recreational facilities, student groups & activities, residential accommodations, libraries and health facilities available.
There are 2,200 acres of parks, 40 co-ed club sports, intramural sports and recreational programs for people of all ages. Recreational programs are open 24/7 at the university for the students to relax and rejuvenate themselves.
Every incoming first-year UG student is randomly assigned to one of fourteen residential colleges. So, they join a built-in community of diverse student population from the moment they arrive on campus. Along with a close-knit community, all residential colleges boast stunning, state-of-the-art residences.
There are dining halls that provide chef-prepared meals with diverse choices including vegetarian and vegan. Students can spend time in residential college’s gym, library, music rooms, movie theatres, dance studios, visual art studios, recording studios, for recreational and relaxation purposes.

Printers, scanners are available at all major libraries. Students can also borrow laptops, cameras, power backups, and other electronic accessories.
Yale highly encourages students participating in various competitive and recreational sports for the health and well-being of the student community. There are a range of indoor and outdoor facilities along with coaching and mentorship. Students can join in 30 men’s and women’s varsity teams, 40 club sports, intramural programs for recreation, gymnasium for fitness and well-being.

On campus transportation facilities are available with shuttle services that serve Yale University New Haven Campus and the West Campus. Shuttle maps are available on the official website. Yale’s Shuttle service allows carrying pets and collects zero fares from patrons. Motor bikes, bicycling are allowed to get around the campus with limited parking facilities that have fees. There is a car sharing program for students with discounted membership accessible on many campus locations and in city neighbourhoods through Zipcar. Yale University has 14 residential colleges. All the first year undergraduates are guaranteed housing in one of the 14 residential facilities.
