- According to the National Association of Colleges and Employees (NACE), USA, engineering graduates earn around $63,000 annually making it among the highest paying courses in the world. Club that with a huge scope in almost every industry, and you understand why engineering is one of the most sought after programmes in the world. Of course, an engineer’s salary depends on the specialisation he pursues. So, if you are one of those brilliant petroleum engineers you can happily take home over $100,000 annually while as a nuclear engineer you can earn around $68,200. An undergraduate programme in USA takes up to 4 years to complete. Tp be enrolled in undergraduate programme, students will have to take SAT, whereas a graduate applicant will have to submit GRE scores. UK

According to QS, five universities from UK make it to the list of  top 50 engineering colleges in the world, making UK one of the top countries to study engineering abroad. When one thinks of pursuing higher studies in the UK, one is reminded of its world renowned universities like Oxford and Cambridge. The UK has about 500,000 international students out of which over 59,000 are engineering students. Australia:

A very well deserving Australia sits at the 3rd place in the list of top countries to study engineering abroad. The reason being that seven Australian universities have found places in the list of top 100 universities in the world. The country is known for some of its research intensive universities like the University of Melbourne and Monash University, among others. Interestingly, there are about 270,000 international students in Australia out of which 26,000 are pursuing engineering. Universities in Australia offer students the opportunity of exploring a wide range of programmes like aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering and agricultural engineering, to name a few. In fact, chemical, civil and aerospace are among the top engineering specialisations in the country.

Germany

If you are looking for cost-effective destinations to study engineering abroad, then this is where you need to stop. Germany comprises of almost 300,000 international students out of which 71,000 are studying engineering. One of the major reasons why Germany is the top destination to study engineering abroad for international students is that many universities in the country either do not charge or accept a very small amount as tuition fees. So, while most of the public-funded universities have exempted tuition fees at the undergraduate level, the graduate level sees only some of the universities charging a nominal amount as tuition fees. Interestingly, the country also offers plenty of time to international students explore job opportunities post studies. German laws allow students to stay up to 1.5 years after the completion of programme.

China

China, which is the world’s second largest economy, is slowly emerging as one of the top countries to study engineering abroad. It is, especially, a sought after destination to study engineering for students from the Asia Pacific region.
