If you want to understand what it would really cost to study engineering in the USA, then it is important to factor in elements like living expenses, accommodation, transportation costs and so on. The average cost comes to $10000 to $18000 per year which comes to $1000-$1500 per month. This cost includes expenses for accommodation, food, travel, books, clothes and entertainment costs.

Engineering in the USA - Cost of examinations

There are many expenses that you have to take care of before starting your engineering course in the USA. The first in line are examination costs. To study engineering in the USA, aspirants need to take some standardized test mandatory for admission to the programs. So, while students going for postgraduate studies have to take the GRE, aspirants planning to pursue undergraduate studies have to take the SAT.

GRE will cost students upwards of $213. Meanwhile, the two versions of SAT, SAT and SAT with essay, cost $101 and $117 respectively. For SAT, non-U.S students have to pay a regional fee as well in addition to the normal registration fee which is $49. Then there is a separate fee for students who take subject tests.
