Founded in 2007, Khalifa University is ranked 401-410 in the QS World University Rankings 2016/17 and is UAE’s top-ranked university. The university, which has its main campus in downtown Abu Dhabi, has a total enrollment of around 1500 students. Khalifa University is an independent, non-profit, coeducational institution, supported by the UAE government and hundred percent owned by the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. One of the top universities in UAE, it offers ten undergraduate engineering-based programs and nine graduate degree programs, with all the programs being accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education, UAE. In addition, six of the undergraduate degree programs also have the accreditation of the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET. Facilities provided at the university include state-of-the-art classrooms & laboratories.

United Arab Emirates University (UAEU)
A research-intensive university, the UAE came into existence in 1976. There are around approximately 14,000 Emirati and international students enrolled with the university, which offers an array of accredited graduate and undergraduate programs through nine colleges, including Business and Economics; Education; and Engineering. Ranked among the top universities in the UAE, it is ranked 411-420 in the latest QS rankings. Additionally, UAEU is also included in the QS list for top 50 world universities under 50. It current offers 52 Bachelor’s degree programs and 37 Master’s programs, in addition to a number of Doctorate programs, including Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Doctor of Business Administration (DBA). A unique aspect about studying at UAEU, 90% of UAEU under-graduate programs include an internship.

American University of Sharjah (AUS)
If you want to study in the UAE but in an academic-environment that follows the American education system, the American University of Sharjah is for you. Among the top universities in UAE and ranked 441-450 in QS rankings, AUS encourages student initiative, active participation in the learning process and the application of knowledge in the real world, hallmarks of the American education system. Established in 1997, AUS has a total student count of over 5,500. Accrediting body of the university include the Commission for Academic Accreditation of the Ministry of Education's Higher Education Affairs Division, UAE. Many programs also have American accreditations like Bachelor of Architecture program is accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB), while the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) and the MBA program are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

American University in Dubai (AUD)
A private, nonsectarian university, the American University in Dubai was founded in 1995. The university has student strength of around 2,600, with representations from across the world. AUD offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees, in addition to Certificates in Middle Eastern Studies and Professional Teaching. Some of the popular degrees at the university include B.Arch., engineering degrees and MBA. Some of the important accreditation and licensing bodies of the university include Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the United Arab Emirates and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). Its business program enjoys special accreditation from International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE). One of top universities in the UAE, it is 551-600 in QS rankings. The syllabus and textbooks at AUD are similar to those used in the United States.

University of Sharjah (UOS)
One of the top universities in UAE, UOS is yet another university listed in QS rankings, and is ranked 651-700. It has 14 colleges and offers more than 85 diverse academic programs (majors) at the diploma, bachelor, master and PhD levels. These programs are accredited by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The student strength of the university, which has its main campus barely a few kilometers away from Arabian Gulf, is around 14,000. The university also has a 610-member strong faculty, many of who have diverse international experience and standing.

Founded in 2003, ADU is the final university in the QS list and is one of the top universities in the UAE that you can check out. Student strength of the university stands at 5900 students, with representations from over 55 countries. It is located in the capital of UAE, Abu Dhabi, and offers globally recognized degrees. In addition to being accredited by United Arab Emirates Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, individual programs like business management have accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business –AACSB. The university also claims to have an employability rate of 90% within a year of graduation.
