Even though India was not part of the ban, US consulates stopped issuing visas for a brief period. Hence, Indian applicants have been experiencing delays. Moreover, the US administration introduced social media vetting for student visa applications. According to the new immigration rules in USA, applicants for F, M, or J visas must now make their social media accounts public as part of the vetting process. Now, the applications from Indian nationals for all visa types, including B1, B2 tourist visas, H1B visas, and F1 student visas, are still being processed.
