University of Texas Eligibility

The University of Texas Austin’s eligibility criteria may vary as per the course requirements, hence applicants can explore the degree programmes and check their eligibility. However, the common eligibility criteria for Indian applicants across various degree programmes are listed here.

  • A minimum GPA of 3.75 (95%) on a 4-point scale in Senior Secondary School (class 12th). 

  • A minimum GPA of 3.0 (85%) on a 4.0 Scale in bachelor’s for most PG courses and a minimum GPA of 3.25 (87%) on a 4.0 Scale for MBA programme admissions.

  • SAT score of 1070 with 480 in EBRW and 530 in Mathematics, and an ACT score of 30 or above.

  • GRE score of 151 in Verbal; 153 in Quant; and 4.0 in Analytical.

  • GRE score of 160 in Verbal 160, and 159 in Quant 159 for MBA admissions.

  • GMAT score of 580 or above for PG courses and 706 or above for MBA programme.

They include Perry-Castañeda Library, Architecture and Planning Library, Classics Library, McKinney Engineering Library, Fine Arts Library, Walter Geology Library, Kuehne Physics Mathematics Astronomy Library, Life Science Library, Benson Latin American Collection. Together they hold more than 10 million volumes and offer the latest digital journals, web resources and databases. UT Austin libraries offer collaborative study spaces, quiet Study Spaces, reading rooms, closed study rooms for doctoral students, individual and group study rooms, and computers. Students can use printers, scanners, and micro-form readers with a  UTE ID.

While studying at the UT Austin students can either participate in recreational sports to simply active, recreational sports clubs to learn a particular sport, or varsity teams to compete in NCAA I athletics in the USA. Austin University mascot is Bevo. There are around 45 recreational sports clubs along with 18 varsity teams in Football, basketball, volleyball, baseball, track and field, etc. There are at least 10 notable athletic facilities that include Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium (Football), UFCU Disch-Falk Field for baseball, Mike A. Myers Stadium for soccer, track and field; Texas Tennis Center, along with Gregory Gymnasium for volleyball. University of Texas basketball has one of the prominent sports facilities at Moody Centre that has a seating capacity of 15,000.

University of Austin provides ample transport options to students to get around the campus. Students can use bicycles, shuttle buses, carpools, carshares to get around campus as well as shuttle between residences and UT Austin campus. The UT Shuttle System is one of the largest in the USA serving 9 routes and over 3 million passengers every year. Students, staff, and faculty can travel free-of-cost with a valid UT ID card. CapMetro is a bus system serving many different parts of Austin and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. The UT Austin community may use CapMetro free of charge by swiping a valid UT ID. The Entertainment Bus is another free-ride option to travel late at night.

While Cypress Bend Cafe is a grill and coffee shop, students can get Starbucks coffee, breakfast tacos, and bakery at Jester Java. J2 Dining, Jester City Limits, Kins Dining, are buffet style dining halls at University of Texas Austin where students can eat regular breakfast, lunch and dinner. Cypress Bend Cafe, Littlefield Patio Cafe also serve as restaurants along with Jesta' Pizza.
