While studying at the UT Austin students can either participate in recreational sports to simply active, recreational sports clubs to learn a particular sport, or varsity teams to compete in NCAA I athletics in the USA. Austin University mascot is Bevo. There are around 45 recreational sports clubs along with 18 varsity teams in Football, basketball, volleyball, baseball, track and field, etc. There are at least 10 notable athletic facilities that include Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium (Football), UFCU Disch-Falk Field for baseball, Mike A. Students can use bicycles, shuttle buses, carpools, carshares to get around campus as well as shuttle between residences and UT Austin campus. The UT Shuttle System is one of the largest in the USA serving 9 routes and over 3 million passengers every year. Students, staff, and faculty can travel free-of-cost with a valid UT ID card. CapMetro is a bus system serving many different parts of Austin and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. The UT Austin community may use CapMetro free of charge by swiping a valid UT ID. The Entertainment Bus is another free-ride option to travel late at night.
