According to the QS World University Rankings, MIT is ranked number one for three years in a row. Known for its engineering and technology programme, the Institute is known for its distinguished faculty and extraordinary facilities. Research holds great importance for the MIT family, almost one-third of the faculty are scholars and their research accounts for 54 per cent of MIT’s total expenditure annually – a total of USD 415,885,399 was spent on research in 2021.
Aeronautical/ aerospace/ astronautical engineering, computer engineering, chemical engineering, communications/ electrical/ electronic engineering, mechanical engineering and material engineering are some of the popular specialisations at MIT. It was rated second best to study bioengineering/biomedical engineering and nuclear engineering. The good news is that financial aid is available but you can apply for it after the institute has accepted your admission. MIT will offer you financial aid depending on your spending power. In certain cases, 100 per cent financial aid is also available.

Studying at one of the oldest universities in the world – the University of Cambridge is an experience in itself. Ranked at number two by QS World University Ranking for Engineering and Technology in 2022. The University has a long history of excellence in both teaching and research.
It offers some of the best engineering courses, with many of its departments ranked among the top 10 in their fields. The second oldest university in the world, the University of Oxford stands at number three in the QS World University Ranking in the category for engineering and technology in the year 2022. The Department of Engineering of Oxford is popular for its research and teaching methodologies. The undergraduate course in engineering is a four-year course that awards the student with a Master of Engineering degree.
Students can opt for specialisation in the third and fourth years. You can choose from Mechanical, Civil, Information, Electrical, Chemical and Biomedical Engineering as your specialisation.

Stanford University is a private research university in Stanford, California. It was founded in 1891 by Leland Stanford, former Governor of California, as an all-male school. Today, it is coeducational and remains one of the most prestigious universities in the world. Stanford is ranked number at fifth position by QS World University Ranking for 2022.
The Stanford School of Engineering has six major interdepartmental and 10 departmental courses.
