B1 visa is for business visits to the US (for meetings, conferences, or negotiating contracts), while the B2 visa is for those individuals who wish to go to the US as a tourist, for recreation or getting some medical treatments. Most of the time, both of these visas combined as B1/B2 allowing applicants to enter the US multiple times for temporary business or tourism.
