Candidate needs to apply for the Cambridge scholarship and admission at the same time through Cambridge's official website at cam.ac.uk. The applications will be closed when the course becomes full. Step 2 - Choose the course and college from the course directory and click apply now option.

Step 3 - Fill the application section with the required personal & course-related details and plans and suitability for the chosen course.

Step 5 - Upload the necessary documents.

The whole selection process for the Gates Cambridge scholarship involves only two stages -

• Eligibility check by academic department - The eligibility criteria and selection criteria both are checked very crucially. Only a few candidates will be shortlisted after the process.

• Interview Round - There will be four members of the panel who ask questions majorly in four categories about the candidates’ introduction, the Gates Cambridge scholarship, career or academic plans, and final thoughts and views of the candidate.

Grant details- Gates Cambridge Scholarship

A fully funded scholarship, covering university fees and providing a maintenance allowance for a single student of £18,744/year. Funding is covered for the overall course duration i.e. 1 year for masters and 4 years for PhD. A few more benefits and allowances covered under the scholarship are provided below.

Few additional funding are provided on a discretionary basis that is decided by the scholarship authority -

• Academic development funding - From £500 to up to £2,000 depending on the length of the course duration.

• Dependent Children Allowance - Amount up to £10,944 for one child and upto £15,612 for two or more children

• Fieldwork costs (for PhD candidates)

• Maternity/Paternity funding for up to 6 months

• Hardship funding for unforeseen consequences of scholar
