Details of Documents Required for Student Visa Germany
Germany Student Visa Application Form: Prospects applying for a German student visa must collect an application form that is available at the German Missions in India website-india.diplo.de. It is a straightforward application form that is self-explanatory. Usually, personal information such as name, date of birth, residential address, email, marital status etc are asked. All the documents required for Germany student visa must be submitted along with this application.
Completed Declaration: This form is also available at German Missions in India website-india.diplo.de. It is “additional contact and legal representation information”. Applicants must give their contact details and that of another representative (Lawyer/Family member/Sponsor). These contact details are phone, email, postal address, etc.
Passport: Proof of a valid passport with 2 empty pages along with an A4 photocopy of the data page. A valid passport here is not more than 10 years old and its validity should be not less than a year from the date of applying to Germany student visa.
Biometric Photographs: Three passport-sized photographs are required to be presented along with the German student visa application. They must not be older than 6 months and adhere to the following specifications:
Width x Height: 35mm x 45mm
No shadows behind. Bright and unicolored, preferably in a neutral grey background.
The face should be clearly visible and occupy 70-80% of the photo.

Statement of Purpose: A clear statement of motivation explaining their intent to study in Germany, why they are interested in a particular course, and why they should be chosen to study in Germany. A convincing statement of purpose is mandatory among all documents for German student visa. It is formally requesting a German student visa.
Curriculum Vitae: Candidates should prepare their latest resume/curriculum vitae that has details of academic background, work experience (including any internships), skill set, and extracurricular activities, and relevant achievements.
Proof of admission to a German university/college: This is a letter of acceptance (Zulassungsbescheid) from a German university offering admission to the applicant. It contains:

Details of university and program of study.
Deadlines for confirmation of admission and payment of relevant fees to be given by the candidate.
This fee in German public universities is 200-400 Euros per semester.
Guidance for enrolling in that university and program.
Academic Transcripts: Provide academic transcripts of all highest qualifications passed i.e high school, bachelor's degree and other relevant documents.
Health Insurance: For immediate purposes, travel insurance with 3 months validity must be taken by candidates. Once in Germany, a full coverage health insurance plan by public or private providers must be purchased for the entire duration of stay.
Proof of Finances: German immigration for study purposes requires students to have at least EUR 11,208 coverage of funds per year. Students can provide proof of holding finances through blocked accounts, declaration of commitment from the German resident, and scholarships received.
A blocked account (Sperrkonto in German) is a special type of account that can be opened by Indian students planning to study in Germany. These are provided by ICICI, Kotak Mahindra in India. Full list of providers is available on the German Federal Foreign Office website.
Declaration of sponsorship is a letter of commitment from a German resident confirming that they will sponsor study costs of the applicant for total duration of the program.
If a candidate's cost of education in Germany is fully covered by any scholarship from Germany or other countries, proof of the same should be provided to the German embassy as proof of financial support.
Note: Depending on the total cost of studying a chosen program in Germany, full financial coverage must be provided along with a German student visa application.

Germany Visa Processing Time
Processing time for Germany student visa starts only after the submission of a completed and signed application to the nearest German embassy or consulate. If all documents are regular and complete, it takes up to 4 weeks to reach a decision. Otherwise, a maximum of 12 weeks or three months is not uncommon to receive a German student visa. So plan well before to avoid delays.
During Visa Processing
After submission of Germany student visa application to the nearest German embassy in India, it will be forwarded to corresponding authorities in Germany for processing.
