After you have applied, any additional documentation you need to submit should be uploaded into ImmiAccount. If you provide your documents through any other channel, it will result in processing delays.
You can be in or outside Australia when a decision is made on your application.
If you apply for this visa from outside Australia, it is recommended not to make any arrangements to travel to Australia or quit your job until you have received notification from the government, in writing, that you have been granted the student visa.
Track and manage your application
A Transaction Reference Number (TRN) is a unique number assigned to each online application. Make sure you keep it safe as you will need this to:
track and manage your application
identify your application when you communicate with us
check your visa entitlements.
After you apply, the immigration department might ask you to:
1. attend an interview
2. provide additional information
3. provide bio-metric information
4. provide police certificates.
Most applications will take about four weeks to process. The exact time your application will take depends on:
whether you have provided all supporting and correct documents with your application
whether the immigration department needs additional information from you
whether you need to go for any health check-up or provide bio-metric information.
If the Australian student visa is granted, the department will let you know your visa number and conditions attached to the visa if any. Unfortunately, if you are not granted the visa, they will let you know the reason and inform you of your review rights and when you can apply for a review.
