    About APIEL 2026

The Advanced Placement International English Language exam (APIEL), is part of AP exams, which is conducted by the College Board, which also conducts the SAT exam. The APIEL is a good option for international students who wish to pursue a university course in English-speaking countries in North America, especially the US and Canada. The test was first implemented in 1997.

Students who complete the APIEL exam improve their chances of getting into a university of their choice to pursue higher education. The exam tests student’s skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking English so that they can complete their course in an English-speaking environment.

The APIEL exam is developed each year by a team of English teachers from different countries. The 2026 AP Exams will be administered in schools over two weeks in May. Late testing option will also be provided for those candidates who are unable to take the test during the regular dates.
