    About Kathmandu University

    Kathmandu University is a government institution established in 1991 and is situated in the city of Kathmandu in Nepal. It is the third oldest university in Nepal which offers higher education. The motto of this university is Quality Education for Leadership.

    Kathmandu University’s acceptance rate is 65%. The university is averagely selective and easily grants admission to the institute if the candidate satisfies all the entry requirements including the minimum required GPA score.     Kathmandu University Admission and Application

    The acceptance rate of Kathmandu University is 65% and students are welcomed from all over the world. They are admitted as the competition is less and the university is less selective in nature.

    One must send NPR 1,000 (Rs 624) along with the application, letter, and academic transcripts to the university to be considered for admission.

    How to apply at Kathmandu University? 

    To apply at Kathmandu University, one is required to download the application form and then fill it up with all the required information. Moreover, students must attach their academic transcripts along with a motivation letter and then submit the completed application form. 

    The application form is available and is different as per the discipline department. To access it, one can visit the official website of the university. On reaching the home webpage, click on Academics and choose the faculty department. The user is then redirected to the department page of the university. Here, one can select their preferred course and then click “Apply Now”. The application form is downloaded at this step.

    Kathmandu University Application Fees: The application fee is non-refundable and must be paid by each candidate. It is equal to NPR 1,000 which is around Rs 624 approximately.

    Kathmandu University Eligibility

    All students must showcase their eligibility to be a part of Kathmandu University. There are certain Kathmandu University requirements stated by this institute which vary as per the department faculties. 

    Generally, undergraduate students must have the following criteria:

    • Candidates must have passed high school (12th Standard) and hold a high school certificate

    • Candidates must have the discipline subject at the high school level which is relevant to the bachelor's degree curriculum

    • Candidates must have at least a 2.0 GPA or an aggregate of 50% at high school level

    • There may be other specific requirements or a higher GPA for other programmes

    • Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in the same discipline as the chosen master's programme
