Keele University Eligibility

All candidates applying to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes are required to meet the following criteria set by Keele University. 

Undergraduate Year 1

  • Students must score of 65% - 90% in Class 12 in the CISCE / CBSE / West Bengal board, depending on the course. 

  • For all other State Boards Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC), candidates must have 70% - 95% in Class XII.

  • They must meet the subject-specific requirements. 

  • 2 years of study must have been completed by students. 

MBChB MEDICINE Entry Requirements

  • Candidates must have a minimum of 90% overall in Class XII in the Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics) from the Central Board or All India Board only

  • Students must have a minimum of 85% in Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Maths) in Class X.

  • Applicants applying in the final year of high school must submit predicted scores along with class XI achievements on their UCAS form.

  • Students must meet the English language proficiency.  

  • Provide proof of work experience, if applicable. 

  • Candidates are required to take the BioMedical Admissions Test (BMAT).

Note that for international students, Keele University does not accept UCAT.

Graduates

  • All applicants must possess a minimum of a 3-year degree, First Class, at a reputable university

  • It must be in a science or medical-related subject

  • A good high school transcript is still required with 60% or above in Maths and all sciences

Postgraduate 2.1    

  • Candidates must have a minimum of 3-year Bachelor's degree with an average score of 60% or above or a CGPA of 6.5 on a scale of 10.0. 

  • The institution must be recognised on NARIC. 

Postgraduate 2.2

  • Candidates must have a minimum of 3-year Bachelor's degree with an average score of 55% or above or a CGPA of 6.0 on a scale of 10.0. 

  • The university must be recognised on NARIC. 

English Language Requirements 

Candidates applying to Keele University must meet the English language requirements for their selected course if English is not their first language. To fulfil the criteria, candidates must meet the detailed requirements mentioned below.

  • Candidates must have a minimum of 70% or above in English, depending on the course in Class XII in CISCE or CBSE board. 

  • Applicants passed from all other State Boards Class XII (except Punjab and Haryana) must have an average of 75% or above in English, depending on the course.

  • They must have completed their recent education within the last 5 years.

  • The mode of study must be in English, otherwise, IELTS is required.

Laboratories

The University has a £34m Central Science Laboratory (CSL) that offers state-of-the-art facilities and access to high-specification equipment - ensuring students are well prepared for scientific or industrial employment post-graduation.

Library

The University Library is entered on the middle floor via an external staircase. If you have mobility issues please use the ground floor entrance. We have swipe card access at the Campus Library so please always bring your Keele card with you. If you have lost your card, you need to order a new one. Please note that you will not be able to enter the Library without a current card.

Wifi

The University Students living in on-campus accommodations can connect their game consoles and smart TVs to the Magnet network. You can manage your device registrations yourself using the device registration portal, removing the need to raise a support call when you want to add a new device. You will need to log in using your username. For undergraduate students, this is the first five characters of your email address (e.g. a1a11). Visitors to campus are able to use our self-registration portal to access the Visitor WiFi network. 

Moot Court

The University has a high-quality multi-use learning environment designed around a moot court to enhance students’ development of a wide range of broadly applicable skills and to provide a site for further interactions between students and the legal profession, in particular our alumni. The Moot Court was officially opened in March 2013 by Keele Law Graduate, Fiona Woolf CBE.

Banks/ATMs

The university's largest university campus, Keele offers the same staple amenities that you’d find in most villages including a post office, newsagent, pharmacy, bookshop, mini supermarket, weekly farmers markets, as well as a branch of Santander. There are also a number of bus stops, post boxes, ATMs, and other amenities that make Keele a truly convenient place to house your business.

Guest Room/Waiting Room

The University guest is anyone who does not have a contract for the room in which they are staying. This includes non-students, students who live off campus, and students who have a contract for another room on campus. If a guest is staying in the Halls of Residence but is not registered, this will be treated as a breach of regulations and the student may be disciplined and fined. It is important that the University knows who is in the building so that we can notify the fire service in the event of an evacuation.

Swimming Pool

The University has a Swimming Pool facility for the students and staff. To say that A choice was made between a chapel and a swimming pool is entirely untrue. The chapel was already built but there was some funding that became available and the choice was made between putting it towards chapel running costs or towards building a swimming pool. The funding did go to the chapel however it was not built in place of a swimming pool

Gym

The University fitness center is well equipped with over 50 stations consisting of cardiovascular equipment, resistance equipment as well as a free weights room, and a functional fitness space. If you take out our annual gym membership, you also get the BUCS UNIversal membership. This means when you're at home, you can use your local university gym for free.

The University car parks are regularly patrolled by our own team of uniformed Traffic and Security staff across the 24hr period and we pride ourselves on maintaining the highest standards of security and safety across our site.
