National University of Singapore was formed in 1905 as a medical school with a capacity of 23 students by Tan Jiak Kim with an aim to provide education to the local community. NUS came into existence 1980 after it merged with the University of Singapore and Nanyang University. It currently has 3 campuses running in Kent Ridge, Bukit Timah and Outram having 13 undergraduate and 4 graduate schools under its administration.
