The University of Technology Sydney is a Public Research University founded in 1988. The University is situated in Sydney, Australia. University of Technology Admission and Application

Application deadline February,2025

The University of Technology Sydney admission process is basic and must be followed thoroughly. The applicants must choose the degree course they wish to pursue before applying at the University and check the entry requirements of the selected course. Applicants must note the course name or course code. Applicants can submit the application in both online and offline mode.

University of Technology Sydney Admission Process: How to apply?

The steps for online application at the University of Technology Sydney are as follows:

  • Visit the official website of the University at uts.edu.au.

  • Go to the Study bar and click on the ‘International Students’ given under ‘Information for’ section.

  • A new page for information for international students will open.

  • Click on ‘How to Apply’.

  • Click on ‘Begin your application form’.

  • Click on the UTS Online Application System.

  • Register for the application process.

  • The login credentials will be sent to the applicant via registered email id.

  • Login to fill the application form 

  • Scan the required documents and upload them.

  • Pay the application fee.

Submit the application form.

International students can also send the application form in hard copy along with all the supporting documents. The links to apply through hard copy application form for both UG and PG courses are provided under ‘Begin your application form’. Applicants must read the instructions for offline application such as use of black pen etc. Applicants can apply to the University of Technology Sydney at any time during the admission sessions. But, the closing dates must be taken care of.

University of Technology Sydney: Documents Required

  • Academic Transcripts

  • English language proficiency test scores such as IELTS / TOEFL / PTE Academic.

  • Higher Secondary School(class 12th) Certificate, equivalent to Year 12 in Australia.

  • Relevant Bachelor’s Degree and a brief research proposal after discussion with an appropriate UTS staff member (Undergraduate Honours Coursework).

  • Recognised Bachelor’s Degree equivalent to Australian Bachelor’s Degree and a brief research proposal after discussion with an appropriate UTS staff member (for Postgraduate Courses).

  • Submission of CV, portfolio, and/or a personal statement to demonstrate relevant work experience (if required).

The documents will be submitted in original or Certified copies can also be accepted, only if they are certified by one of the following, 

  • Australian Overseas Diplomatic Mission.

  • UTS Authorised Representative or Agent.

  • Public Notary Office.

  • The Administration of the Institution that issued the relevant document.

  • An Australian university.

It is mandatory to send the original supporting documents in hard copy to UTS even after uploading certified copies through the online application. The students can send these documents via mail at international@uts.edu.au. The mail must be addressed to the Manager, International Admissions.
The hard copy application form with supporting documents and original bank cheque/draft (payment receipt of application fee) can be sent to the University via mail at international@uts.edu.au. The mail must be addressed to the Manager, International Admissions. Applicants can also submit their application through UTS Agents as well.

The University will send the letter of acknowledgement to the applicant about receiving their application. Applicants can accept the unconditional offer letter from UTS confirming their admission to the University. Applicants can accept the offer by clicking on Student Login or Agent login, if they have applied through an agent.

Following documents are required to be uploaded to accept the offer online,

  • Completed and signed acceptance form.

  • ID page of Passport document.

  • Proof of payment of application fee (copy of bank draft or bank cheque). 

  • Financial Guarantee Letter (for sponsored students, if applicable) 

International Students can also send the documents to our mailing address, if they cannot upload them in an online portal. After processing of acceptance, applicants will receive a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) that will be used to apply for a student visa to study at the University of Technology Sydney.

Payment of the application fee 

University of Technology Sydney Application fee is AU$100. The fee can be paid in the following ways,

  • Via UTS secure payment site. 

  • Cheques and Bank drafts made payable to University of Technology Sydney.

  • Paypal for online applications only.

  • After the payment has been approved the applicant must print a copy of the tax receipt and submit it together with the application.

University of Technology Eligibility

The eligibility criteria to get admission in the University of Technology Sydney is provided under the list of degree programs. Applicants can check their eligibility under the selected degree course. The minimum eligibility to get admission at the University of Technology Sydney is as follows:

  • Applicants should be at least 17 or more than 25 years of age at the time of admission.

  • Applicants must meet the minimum educational qualifications required to take admission in the selected course or degree program at the University of Technology Sydney.

  • Applicants must have completed the education required for a particular degree course, from a recognised institution.

  • Applicants should meet the English Language Proficiency Requirements of the University.

English language proficiency requirements

International students who do not have English as their first language or have not studied English in their previous education, need to provide the evidence of their English language proficiency which is mandatory to meet the English language requirements of the University of Technology Sydney. The students need to demonstrate the scores of their English language proficiency tests recognised by the UTS.

The University of Technology Sydney campuses are Broadway campus, Haymarket campus and Moore campus. The facilities provided at the campus include state-of -the-art teaching and learning, creativity, entrepreneurship, sports and library. 

Network Café facilities on campus can open up a number of opportunities for students from making new friends and long lasting connections, practising English language skills, and learning about Australian culture. UTS Local Legends, the Peer Networkers who have finished at least one semester at UTS, are readily available to help new students get familiar with the campus life.

Library

The University of Technology Sydney library provides the services such as training, advice, workshops, and assistance with studies. The services are available on campus in online mode as well. The UTS library is well equipped with study guides, research journals, UTS publications, electronic books and journals, special and rare collections and more. The provision of meeting with a librarian for one-to-one personalised assistance is available for postgraduate research students and staff.

Wifi

UTS-WiFi is the secure wireless network that UTS students and staff can connect to while on campus. The facility is only available to the students and staff.


Laboratories

University of Technology Sydney Computer labs provide access to technology and software that students need. Computer labs are available to UTS students for study, learning and research purposes.



Moot Court

The University of Technology Sydney provides the Moot courts facility, where students can practise their advocacy and mooting skills. These facilities are provided with a purpose to provide real-life experience of arguing the law in the courts.

Staff and students are encouraged to travel to UTS using public or active transport. On-campus parking is limited and only available to people with accessibility needs or with other special permits.

University of Technology Sydney provides medical services for its staff and students. The computerised medical system is well staffed with qualified doctors and registered nurses. University of Technology Sydney Housing Service offers comfortable, affordable and convenient accommodation options for international students within its residence Yura Mudang.
