Central Queensland University has gym facilities open to the public, staff, and students. Comprised of qualified fitness instructors, personal trainers, exercise scientists, and nutritionists, the university’s gym facilities promise the complete well-being of the students and staff members. It also provides a free session for the new joiners in their first week. CQU also offers special membership pricing for students which is $150 for 6 months and $250 for the full annual membership.

Central Queensland University offers sporting facilities surrounded by the CQU community. Hygiene bathrooms, toilets, a first aid room with lights and is fully air-conditioned, a multi-purpose stadium that has 3 x basketball courts side by side, canteens served with healthy meals, and changing rooms are some of the common facilities offered by the organisation to the athletes and their hired external groups and schools.

The University of Central Queensland has introduced a "Students with Special Needs" unit for the university’s specially-abled students. In this unit, an awareness programme is held for pre-service teachers to meet the needs of disabled students in inclusive school settings. The institution has built a knowledge of the definitions and criteria for physically challenged students and also the concept of a “person first” approach to help students complete higher education. The university consults with students, parents, specialist services, and wider community support agencies to get knowledge and information regarding the improvement of students with disabilities.

The institution has two training restaurants at Mackay and Rockhampton campuses to allow students to practice their skills and be assessed in catering, hospitality, and front-line management. Some of the famous cafeterias present at the university include 200 Degrees Catering, Bird Cage Cafe Emerald, Bird Cage Bar and Lounge Rockhampton North Campus, and Bird Cage Cafe Rockhampton City. The University of Central Queensland has a wide range of health services to staff, students, and the general public. These Health Clinics provide practical learning environments for students with state-of-the-art health facilities under clinical supervision by registered health professionals. Rockhampton Health Clinic, Mackay Health Clinic, and Brisbane Health Clinic are the famous health clinic centers present on the university campus.
