What is GMAT Exam?

Latest Updates to GMAT

The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) introduced a new version of the GMAT exam, known as the GMAT Focus Edition 2025, however, they have transitioned back to using the 'GMAT Exam' name from July 1, 2024 onward, making it the only version of the exam available. The purpose of this exam is to sharpen the higher-order thinking skills and data literacy skills of a student. Now, students can apply for the latest GMAT exam. The duration of this exam is 2 hours, 15 minutes and it has 64 questions in total: 21 questions for quantitative reasoning, 23 questions for verbal reasoning, and 20 questions for data insights. Students will get 45 minutes each for these sections. The analytical writing assessment section is not a part of the latest GMAT exam.

GMAT Exam 2025 Eligibility Criteria

In order to take the GMAT examination, candidates must meet the following GMAT eligibility criteria:

GMAT Age Requirement

Candidates must be at least 13 years of age, while there is no maximum age requirement for GMAT 2025. Students who fall between the ages of 13 and 17 must submit written proof that is duly signed by their parents or teachers.

Educational Qualifications

Students who are in the final year of their undergraduate course or have completed their UG courses are eligible to apply for GMAT 2025.

Important Documents

The candidates must have a valid passport during the time of GMAT examination.

GMAT 2025 Registration

Students can register for this examination online all throughout the year. The GMAT registration begins six months prior to the date of the GMAT exam. You can pay the GMAT exam fees either with a debit or credit card before the GMAT registration last date.

Now, students can register online for GMAT 2025 by following these steps:

Step 1: Visit the GMAT official website

Visit www.gmac.com and click on “register for the exam” on the main page.

Step 2: Click on ‘Register for GMAT Exam.’

After clicking on 'register for the exam’, you will be redirected to another page. Click on ‘Register Now’.

Step 3: Choose exam mode and complete your profile

Select your preferred mode of GMAT exam (test centre or online) and create your account by filling in all the details necessary for registration.

Step 4: Confirm the details and make the payment

Confirm all the details and complete the payment by paying the GMAT exam fees. You will receive the confirmation mail on your mail ID once you have completed registering for GMAT exam 2025.

GMAT 2025 Exam Fee

If you choose the offline or remote GMAT exam, then you will have to pay USD 275, and if you choose the online mode, then you will have to pay the equivalent of USD 300. The payment can be made through debit or credit card, and UPI as well.

GMAT Result 2025

Candidates who appear for GMAT 2025 can avail the scores immediately after completing the test. You will receive the GMAT score in the form of a report that will consist of the scores obtained in all the sections, and this will be valid for five years.

GMAT Result 2025

The official GMAT 2025 will be available for the candidates between 5 and 20 days from the date of the examination. Generally, the GMAT exam result is released in 5-7 days, but it may take up to 20 days to fully process any requests made. The report consists of total & section-wise scores, percentile rankings, time management, and performance insights.

GMAT Score 2025

The GMAT score cutoff varies for different B schools; however, it depends on several factors, such as the difficulty of the exam, availability of seats, overall score distribution, and more. While there is no fixed cut-off for GMAT, a competitive score is between 655 and 705 or higher for getting admission to the top 10 business schools in the world.

Earlier, the GMAT score was calculated based on four sections, and now, the new GMAT score will be calculated based on the three sections mentioned in the table below.

1. When should I apply for the GMAT 2025 exam?
