New York University (NYU) is a private research university in New York City. NYU was established in 1831 and has grown from a student body of 158 students to more than 50,000 students. Does NYU give full scholarships to international students?

New York University offers Silver Tuition Scholarships to non-US residents or international students applying for the first-year degree programme given that they have mentioned the need for the same in their application form. Can I get into NYU without IELTS?

Applicants only under special cases and circumstances as listed by the New York University might not have to submit proof of English Language Proficiency. The criteria for the same are listed below:

  • The applicant is a native English speaker, irrespective of their citizenship status.
  • Students planning to apply to programmes such as Grad Acting or Dramatic Writing are not conditioned to submit any such language proficiency proof at the time of admission.
  • Candidates who are pursuing or have completed their higher education such as undergraduate or Graduate degree from a country where English is declared to be the formal and official mode of education in all the institutions. (Eg. India, Singapore, Canada, UK, etc.)
