    About New York University

    The university was established in 1831. It has campuses in New York, Abu Dhabi and Shanghai. New York University has 20 schools and colleges. Some of them are- College of Arts and Science, College of Dentistry, Graduate School of Arts and Science, Stem School of Business, School of Professional Studies and many more. NYU has 12 global academic centers in Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, and South America. The university carries out research programmes in more than 25 countries and exchange programmes with 16 partner institutions. The student-to-faculty ratio at New York University is 9:1. There are around 300+ clubs and organisations at NYU. Some of them are curriculum-related clubs, political, religious and ethnic groups, music performance groups and many more.

    Students, aspiring for admission at New York University, have to fill out the application form in online mode. Before applying for admission to study in USA, students must check the eligibility criteria. For NYU admission, students have to submit the necessary documents.     • Students have to fill The Common Application online form.

    • On The Common Application Form, students have to select their choice of campus and course.

    New York University has multiple resources to help students in learning and research work. Faculty members can also avail the university library facility. Both print and online resources are available in the library. NYU also has numerous affiliated libraries and consortial agreements. Elmer Holmes Bobst Library on Washington Square is the flagship library of New York University.

    NYU, United States has several libraries specializing in different areas of study including Elmer Holmes Bobst Library, NYU Law Library and Sid and Ruth Lapidus Health Sciences Library. The Elmer Holmes Bobst Library has a huge collection of books and other electronic resources both available in online and offline form.  The NYU Law Library offers all books and other collections related to law and legal knowledge. The Sid and Ruth Lapidus Health Sciences Library initially, called Frederick L. Ehrman Medical Library, offers books and services related to the medical field. It is the main centre which supports the NYU Langone Medical Center.



    Indoor and outdoor sports are available at New York University. Courts are maintained especially for sports like volleyball, basketball, fencing, golf, soccer, tennis, wrestling, baseball and many more. For water-related activities, the swimming pool is also there on the campus.


    Transport Facility

    The university transportation services include shuttle buses and safe rides. New York University transport ply between major academic building locations including residence halls and medical centers. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority runs the subway, train and bus systems through which you can easily commute from one place to another. As the university is located at the centre of the city along the Health Corridor of First Avenue near 30th Street, near Midtown East, and in downtown Brooklyn which makes transportation services easily available from the university.



    New York University has a student health centre which offers primary care and women’s health services at no cost or very reduced cost. In addition to this, talk therapy and crisis services are given free of cost. Students can access professionals through a 24 private hotline service. At NYU, students also have to enrol for a health insurance plan or Stu-Dent, the student dental plan. 

    I.T Infrastructure

    The IT infrastructure of New York University is well-maintained and helps in promoting teaching, learning, research and administration. The Wi-Fi service is available in the entire campus.

    Apartments and traditional halls are available for accommodation. Apartments are available with kitchen, whereas traditional halls have a communal kitchen system. Facilities in the rooms include twin bed with mattress, desk, chair, drawer space and hanging space, TV, wi-fi, telephone. Other than Residence Halls, Brooklyn Halls and Manhattan Halls are also available for accommodation. Safety and security is taken care of by the campus safety officer. New York University has an expansive bus system for campus transportation.
