Documents required for admission to the University of Connecticut

University of Connecticut Eligibility

The eligibility criteria of the University of Connecticut are course-specific, hence, applicants can check their eligibility under their selected course of study. However, the general eligibility for international applicants is listed below.

  • Undergraduate applicants applying to the School of Engineering must have taken physics and chemistry at the secondary school level.

  • A minimum GPA in the range of 3.0 to 3.5 on a 4-point scale in high school is required for undergraduate admission (the requirement varies with the courses).

  • Graduate applicants must have a completed 4-year bachelor’s degree or a 3-year bachelor’s degree with a master’s degree (UConn does not accept only 3-year bachelor’s degree).

  • A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4-point scale is required in the full-time undergraduate coursework (bachelor’s degree), or,

  • A minimum GPA of 3.5 is required in the most recent year or last year of bachelor’s.

English Language Proficiency Requirements

Applicants who do not have English as their first language must submit English test scores to prove their proficiency to meet the admission requirements of the University of Connecticut.
