About University of Strathclyde

The University of Strathclyde is a public research university located in Glasgow, Scotland. Founded in 1796, Strathclyde is Glasgow’s second-oldest university. It offers over 200 academic programmes across its four faculties of Engineering, Humanities & Social Sciences, Strathclyde Business School, and Science. University of Strathclyde Eligibility

The University of Strathclyde's eligibility criteria may differ for different courses which can be checked under respective courses of study. However, the general eligibility for Indian applicants is listed below.

  • For UG admissions, the applicants must have a minimum aggregate of 70-75% in classes 12th and 10th (Higher Secondary School).

  • A bachelor’s degree from a recognised institution with a minimum 60% aggregate (first-class degree), or

  • A minimum aggregate of 55% in bachelor’s from the University of Mumbai, University of Calcutta, University of Delhi, IITs, IIMs, etc.

  • For Ph.D. admissions, a completed master’s degree and some research work experience is required.

  • English language proficiency requirements must be fulfilled.

English Language Proficiency Requirements

Applicants who are not native speakers of English must submit English proficiency test scores as proof of their proficiency level required for admission to the University of Strathclyde. The English proficiency tests accepted at the university include TOEFL iBT, IELTS Academic, PTE Academic, and CAE / CPE.

Most courses require an IELTS score of 6.5 except for the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Engineering (Undergraduate only) which require 6.5 and 6.0 respectively. Applicants who fall short of the scores required to meet language proficiency can enrol in the university’s pre-sessional English courses to improve their proficiency.
