About The Courtauld Institute of Art

The Courtauld Institute of Art was established in 1932 and is a member of the University of London. It is among the most reputed colleges for the study of the history of art in the world. The Courtauld Institute of Art's only undergraduate programme is BA in Art History. This is a full-time course that introduces students to all aspects of art history. At the postgraduate level, several taught courses are available, including master's degrees in the history of art, curating the art museum, the history of Buddhist art, and the conservation of wall paintings, as well as diploma courses in the conservation of easel paintings and the history of art.

The Courtauld Institute of Art Eligibility

International applicants are evaluated based on their international equivalent qualifications to the UK NARIC. For students whose first language is not English, Courtauld requires an IELTS score of 7.0 overall, with a minimum of 6.5 scores in reading and writing, or a recognised equivalent as specified in their English Language Requirement guidance.

The following are the entry requirements for undergraduate study: Successful completion of one year of a Bachelor's Degree at an Indian university recognised by The Courtauld with an average of 75% or Class 12 with 90% or above when awarded from ICSE or CBSE. The requirement for postgraduate study in UK in this university is equivalent to a good 2.1 in a UK first degree.

Duchy House, located about 100 metres from Somerset House, is the Courtauld's hall of residence. The accommodation has 64 single occupancy rooms spread across four floors.
