About Bournemouth University

Bournemouth University is a public university established in 1992. One of the most historic regions in the United Kingdom is home to Bournemouth University (BU). Located on England's south coast, Bournemouth is less than a two-hour train ride from London and has some of the nation's most beautiful scenery and weather. 

Talbot Campus is located north of Bournemouth just inside Poole borough whereas Lansdowne Campus is near Bournemouth seafront in the city centre. It is ranked as one of the top 70 young universities in the world (THE University Rankings, 2022). 

Applications for undergraduate courses are accepted beginning in September 2023, and the deadline for overseas students to apply to most courses is December 2024. 

Bournemouth University acceptance rate is approximately 50%. If you have a high school diploma and, depending on the course you enrolled for, with a GPA between 3.0 and 3.5 out of 4.0, you can apply to study for a bachelor's degree. 

For overseas students enrolling in 2024–2025, the yearly full-time tuition cost for an undergraduate (BA, BSc, or BEng.) degree offered at the campus or partner colleges of BU ranges from INR 16.2 Lakhs to INR 17.11 Lakhs (Euro 17,800 to Euro 18,800). 

The tuition fees are INR 11.2 Lakhs to INR 15.02 Lakhs (Euro 12,500 to Euro 16,500) for full-time study, for qualifications such as MA, MSc, and LLM. The exams required for admission to undergraduate programmes are SAT and ACT. The entrance exams required for postgraduate programmes are GRE/GMAT

The English test required for a Bachelor’s or Master’s programme is IELTS with a minimum score of 6.0 with 5.5 in each component. The research programme requires a minimum IELTS score of 6.5. In the United States, Computer Animation & Visual Effects, Media & Communication, and Sciences are the top three subject areas for international students. However, majors in Tourism and Sports, and Events and hospitality are becoming more and more popular.

There are seven types of housing available which are BU halls of residence, Student Village, Unilets, and privately provided halls of residence. Approximately INR 9,090 (Euro 100) per week is charged for a private room in University Lettings service. 

International students are charged INR 11,817 (Euro 130) per week for any bedroom that is part of a suite in Halls of Residence. All the postgraduate students are charged INR 13,635 (Euro 150) per week for choosing any apartments in the Halls. Everything is inclusive of all other charges.
