About University of California

University of California, Santa Cruz was established in 1965 with the objective of offering top-notch education and cutting-edge research opportunities to students. UC Santa Cruz has undergraduate programmes in 59 different majors including arts, engineering, humanities, physical & biological sciences, and social sciences. Later, in 1966 the graduate-level programme started functioning in various disciplines of astronomybiology, and history of consciousness, a programme that is a combination of the humanistic disciplines with links to the social sciences, natural sciences, and arts. Other graduate programmes in chemistryliterature, and Earth & planetary sciences were also started in 1967.

  • Students interested in taking admissions need to fill the application forms on the website of the university.
  • Candidates need to fill in all the details and submit their application forms along with required documents and make the payment of fees.
  • Students applying for undergraduate programmes might also have to submit ACT or SAT scores.
  • For UC Santa Cruz master programmes, students have to submit GRE scores.
  • For admissions, candidates are also required to get their documents verified and pay the admission fees.

University of California Eligibility

  • Students need to have 3 GPA or better and 3.40 GPA or better for a non-resident of California.
  • Students must have academic records of their education in high school.
  • Applicants must have performed well in one or more specific subject areas.
  • UC Santa Cruz considers the scores of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System Academic (IELTS Academic) or Duolingo English Test (DET) for International applicants.
  • Transfer students need to have at least 60 semester units or 90 quarter units of UC-transferable college credit with a minimum GPA of 2.40.
  • Transfer students also need to submit their college transcripts.
  • Applicants need to submit letters of recommendation, personal statement, resume, transcripts of all academic records etc.

Various residential facilities are offered by UCSC for the students. Students interested in availing the facility need to apply on the Housing Application portal of the university. Every student must fill in the application forms for housing before the deadline.
