About University of California

The University of California, Riverside (UCR) is a public research university based in Riverside, California. It is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and is affiliated with Universities Research Association (URA) and space-grants. It was established in 1907 as the Citrus Experiment Station. UCR offers several undergraduate, graduate, and professional degree programmes under its three colleges and four professional schools namely College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences, College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, Marlan and Rosemary Bourns College of Engineering, School of Education, School of Medicine, School of Business, and School of Public Policy.

University of California Admission and Application

Application deadline December,2024
  • For University of California, Riverside admissions, students must register online and create an ID and password.
  • Applications for admissions must be submitted online along with all required documents including a resume, statement of purpose, letters of recommendation etc and the amount of application fee.
  • Apart from submitting all the documents students might also need to submit test scores for admissions to certain undergraduate and graduate programmes.
  • Admissions will be offered based on eligibility criteria, document verification and admission fee payment.

University of California Eligibility

  • International students can clear the English language proficiency criteria by submitting scores of any of the following tests- ACT English Language Arts (score 24 or above), Writing and Language in the SAT (score 31 or above), AP examination in English Language and Composition, or English Literature and Composition (score 3, 4 or 5), IB Standard Level examination in English (Language A only) (score 6 or 7), IB Higher Level examination in English (Language A only)  (score 5, 6 or 7), International English Language Testing System (IELTS) (score 6.5 or above), TOEFL iBT (score 80 or above), TOEFL paper based (score 60 or above), or Duolingo English Test (DET) (score 115 or above).
  • Candidates applying for undergraduate programmes must complete X and XII both from state board or CBSE and must secure a minimum score of 70 or above.
  • Students applying for graduate programmes must secure a bachelor’s degree or equivalent from any recognized university or institute.
  • Candidates applying for MPAc, MFin, MBA, MS in Business Analytics, or PhD programmes have to submit qualifying scores in GRE or GMAT.
  • Students applying for graduate programmes must submit three letters of recommendation. However, one letter of recommendation is enough for applying to certain programmes like MPAc, MFin, MBA, Professional MBA, or MSBA within the Anderson Graduate School of Management.
  • It is mandatory to submit all the letters of recommendation in English only.

UC Riverside has 17 men’s and women’s Division I teams which hosts several sports events all around the year offering opportunities to students who are interested in sports and athletics. In addition to that, the UCR Student Recreation Center also offers recreational, intramural and club sports on campus. UCR has several teams for women and men for playing a variety of sports including Basketball, Baseball, Cross Country, Golf, Soccer, Tennis, Track & Field, Volleyball etc.
