Salisbury University was established in 1925 with the aim of delivering quality education to students belonging to different communities and backgrounds. The university was initially started as Maryland State Normal School which later got changed to Salisbury State University in 1988 and then to Salisbury University in 2001. The university administration makes sure to treat every student equally despite their caste, creed, colour, sex or religion. The university offers various undergraduate and graduate programmes across six different academic units including the Fulton School of Liberal Arts, Perdue School of Business, Henson School of Science and Technology, Seidel School of Education and Professional Studies, College of Health and Human Services, and SU Honors College.

Salisbury University offers housing facilities to the students in Chesapeake Hall, Chester Hall, Choptank Hall, Dogwood Village, Manokin Hall, Nanticoke Hall, Pocomoke Hall, Sea Gull Square, St. Martin Hall, Severn Hall, and Wicomico Hall. Both single occupancy and double occupancy rooms are available and students can get the rooms according to their choice and availability of rooms. Students have to apply on the housing portal of the university and rooms will be allotted to them based on the availability of rooms.

The Patricia R. Guerrieri Academic Commons library is well equipped with a huge collection of books, journals, manuscripts and other collections of informative resources. The library also has other spaces for individual study and group study. Other facilities for scanning, printing, etc are also available.


The university offers various sports facilities to the students of the university starting from football, hockey, tennis to soccer, baseball. It also includes a 400-meter track, lighted intramural fields, two sand volleyball courts, and 12 tennis courts having plexi-pave surfaces with six lighted for night play.

The university offers a variety of dining options at The Commons, Chick-fil-A, Perdue Pizza, Chesapeake Bay Roasting Company, Cool Beans, Hungry Minds Express, Shore Cafe, and Conway Cafe. All the cafes and restaurants have a wide range of menu available and all the food items are prepared fresh and hygienic.
Salisbury University offers health services to the students and staff of the university. The Disability Resource Center of the university offers guidance and support to disabled students and makes sure that all the students are treated in an equal manner so that they can achieve their career and life goals. The Counseling Center has trained professionals and experts to offer guidance and help the students dealing with mental health problems. Trained professionals are there to take the counseling sessions in a peaceful and confidential manner.
