    Southern Arkansas University (SAU), is a comprehensive regional public university accredited by The Higher Learning Commission. The university was founded in 1909 as the Third District Agricultural School (TDAS).

    The institution was renamed as Southern Arkansas University in 1976. Southern Arkansas University has a beautiful 1,418-acre campus on the northern boundary of Magnolia, Arkansas.

    Southern Arkansas University Scholarship

    There are various scholarships offered at Southern Arkansas University for national and international students. Academic scholarships are awarded based on grade-point average, class rank, and ACT or SAT score. 

    Southern Arkansas offers two main types of scholarships for international students:

    • Initial scholarships (first-time freshmen)

    • Retention Scholarship for (current SAU international undergraduate students)

    Initial Scholarships: these awards are based on SAT or ACT scores. Initial scholarships are limited and awarded to the students with the highest scores. These scholarships are renewable when a good academic record is maintained. This scholarship includes

    The scholarship is deemed to renew automatically when the candidates maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA and maintain at least 15 hours each semester.

    Southern Arkansas University Eligibility

    There are certain terms and conditions with mandatory requirements stated by Southern Arkansas University which must be complied with to be eligible for admission to numerous programmes at Southern Arkansas University.

    • Official high school and college transcripts must be sent electronically or by mail from the issuing institution or school directly to SAU.

    • Applicants must submit the application form.

    • GED certificate showing graduation date.

    • ACT or SAT scores are waived for Fall 2024 by the university.
