    Northeastern University Eligibility

    Northeastern University requires applicants to meet the academic and English language proficiency requirements to gain admission at the university. The basic minimum eligibility requirements are as follows.

    • Minimum GPA of 3.5 (90%) in the Senior Secondary School (class 12th) for UG admissions.

    • 3 or 4-year Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised university with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (85%) for Graduate admissions.

    • GRE scores of 150+ and GMAT scores of 600-650 are required for graduate admission (scores may vary as per the programme requirements).

    English Language Proficiency Requirements

    International applicants applying for admission at Northeastern are required to demonstrate their proficiency in English. Applicants can submit the English proficiency test scores. Scores are valid for two years from the date of the exam and all test results must be sent in a sealed envelope directly from the testing institution.

    Northeastern University has three libraries at Boston Campus– the Snell Library, the John D. O'Bryant African-American Institute Library, and the NEU Boston School of Law Library. Northeastern University Boston USA library  provides 483,844 print titles, over 12 million ebooks, 162,640 licensed e-journals, and 223,659 streaming audio and visual titles. Snell Library has Archives and Special collections that provide historical records, history of Boston's social movements, public infrastructure, neighbourhoods, and natural environments and publications of Northeastern. 

    Snell Library has facilities for group work and quiet individual study, 30+ group study rooms equipped with whiteboards and plug-in displays for collaboration. There are Individual study rooms for graduate students. Students can do a range of creative activities including for audio recording, video production, and 3D printing. Borrowing is allowed. Food and drink is allowed within the Library with a shop Campus Coffee & Tea Co.

    There are ample sports facilities available for students of all kinds. There are 19 Varsity sports, 64 club sports, 15+ intramural sports through which students can compete in leagues and tournaments. Northeastern University Club Sports Teams participate in collegiate competition, while intramural sports are recreational providing exercise, and fun in a structured environment. 

    Club sports include everything from Skiing, Archery, Badminton, and Basketball to Wrestling, Weightlifting and swimming. Intramural sports also include football, softball, soccer, broomball, badminton, floor hockey, and volleyball, and much more. Every sport offers leagues that accommodate the recreational playstyles and skill levels of all student participants. There are 9 athletic facilities including Henderson Boathouse, Solomon Outdoor Track, and various outdoor and indoor stadiums. 

    Swimming Pool

    Northeastern University has an olympic-size swimming pool at Barletta Natatorium, Cabot Physical centre. It is a 25-yard indoor swimming pool with a diving section that is used for recreational activities, classes and competitions.

    Northeastern University is conveniently located in an urban setting in Boston meaning there’s good connectivity to all nearby locations. There are public transportation stops throughout the campus. NEU Boston allows bicycling, usage of motorbikes and electric vehicles, cars and public transportation with facilities for parking at designated areas. There are bicycle rentals available on campus that offer 1800 bikes at 200 stations throughout Boston, Brookline, Cambridge, and Somerville to rent on the spot for short trips. 

    The local public transit system is known as The Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority (MBTA). NU provides public transportation passes at discounted rates and travel through MBTA.

Famous outlets like Starbucks, and Subway are also there. There are two dining halls with facilities for buffets–the Levine Marketplace and International Village Dining.     Northeastern university has medical facilities for most physical ailments or illnesses, along with counselling and treatment for mental health issues.
