About Doane University
Doane University, Crete was established as a private university in 1872 with the joint efforts of Thomas Doane, the chief civil engineer for the Burlington and Missouri River Railroad, and a local Congregational pastor. The university was initially started as Doane College, but later received the status of a university and the name got changed to Doane University from May 2016. The university has five different schools and colleges under its administration offering education across different areas of study namely- College of Arts & Sciences, College of Business, School of Innovative Learning, College of Education, and College of Professional Studies. Doane University is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and the Nebraska Coordinating Commission of Post-Secondary Education. The university has also formed a partnership with the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement which supports interstate postsecondary distance education.

- The College of Education of Doane is accredited by the Council of the Accreditation of Educator Preparation.
- Doane University has Teacher Preparation Programs which are approved and accredited by the Nebraska Department of Education and the Nursing Program is accredited by the Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education.
- The Music Department of the Doane University has also received accreditation from the National Association of Schools of Music.
- Doane University has formed membership with the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education, College Entrance Examination Board, Council for the Advancement and Support of Education, Council of Independent Colleges, National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, Great Plains Athletic Conference, National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Nebraska, Nebraska Association of Colleges and Universities and Nebraska Independent College Foundation.

- For taking admission, candidates need to apply through the university website.
- The students need to submit the application forms along with required documents like a secondary school report, two teacher evaluations, and transcripts.
- Students also might submit their ACT or SAT scores for applying to Doane University, Crete undergraduate programmes.
- Eligible applicants after clearing all the prerequisites will be offered Doane University admissions after document verification and making the payment of admission fees.

- Applicants need to complete their high school education from any recognised board and have to submit all the academic records of their previous education.
- For graduate programmes, candidates must have completed their undergraduate degree or equivalent in any relevant discipline from any recognised university or institute.
- International students need to have English as their native language or have to submit scores of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System Academic (IELTS Academic).
- The scores of the English proficiency test taken should not be more than two years.
