Sumy Medical University was established as the Medical Faculty of Sumy State University in the year 1992. The Medical Institute of Sumy State University was established in 2005 with 2 departments, Medical Education and Postgraduate Medical Education. In 2009 Sumy Medical University Ukraine became a part of the World Health Organization (WHO) and International Medical Educational Dictionary. Sumy State University Medical Institute offers degrees in the fields of General Medicine, Preventive Medicine and Dentistry and different postgraduate educational specialities.
General Medicine
The programme duration is 6 years.
Students are taught fundamental and clinical disciplines and healthcare practices.

Preventive Medicine

After that, students have to fill in the form and submit it.
Students have to send all the necessary documents.
Next, students have to apply for visa and conduct a payment.
Students have to inform Sumy State University Medical Institute about their date of arrival.
After their arrival at Sumy Medical University, students have to submit their original documents and appear for an entrance test on their knowledge of the language.
After passing the entrance exam, students have to pay for studies and submit their original passport and visa to the Registration Office of the Department of International Education.

Medical institute of Sumy State University has a sanatorium-dispensary, located in the natural district Basy. The sanatorium dispensary provides diagnostic and treatment services to students, staff and society. The Sumy State Medical University Ukraine sanatorium-dispensary is equipped with the latest technologies as per modern criteria of European standards and has all facilities like elektrokardio and electroencephalography, complex stress tests aimed to detect latent coronary heart disease, neurocirculatory dystonia and other disorder, electroplating, KVCH- and UHF wave therapy, physiotherapy and hydrotherapy and others. The consultation and treatment work is provided by the professors and teachers of the university.
The university has a cafeteria for 40 persons, SumDU Medical Institute dining hall for 80 persons, a university dining hall for 274 persons and buffets in the educational buildings. The cafeteria menu contains a variety of dishes including first courses, fish and meat courses, tea, coffee, garnish, juices, salads, sweet desserts and tasty baked products.
