Donetsk National Medical University is the state-owned Higher Educational Establishment of Ukraine. It was established in the year 1930 as M. Gorky Donetsk Medical Institute. DNMU was given the status of a University in 1994 and a National University in 2008. It is the largest Medical University in Eastern Europe. The university ranks first among Ukrainian medical universities from 2001 till 2018, constantly, as per the ratings provided by the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education of Ukraine.
The University has four campuses, namely, the Mariupol Campus, Kirovograd (Kropyvnytsky) Campus, Chernihiv Campus and Kramatorsk Campus. Students are getting training in English, Ukrainian and Russian languages at every campus of the university. The Kirovohrad and Chernihiv Campuses provide training in French Language as well. Donetsk National Medical University was the first medical university in Ukraine and Eastern Europe to open the doors of faculties of Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy in the English language for foreign students.
The faculty of General Medicine was established in 1930. The faculty is known nationally for its innovative teaching, clinical training and research programs. Donetsk National Medical University offers many courses in the field of medicine. The notable faculties are Faculty of General Medicine, Faculty of Pediatrics and Public Health, Faculty of Pharmacy and Nursing, Faculty of Dentistry and Premedical and Preparatory Department. The University offers Medical courses in English and Russian Language.
The courses or degree programs offered at the University include General Medicine(MD/MBBS), Dentistry/Stomatology(BDS), Pharmacy and Pre-medical Courses. Pre-medical Course is a Russian-intensive program, where Russian and Ukrainian languages are taught to those students who wish to continue their studies at the Donetsk National Medical University (DNMU) or any other University in Ukraine. Upon successful completion of this course, a diploma is awarded to the student. All the Medical Courses are offered in post-graduation. The University also offers a Foundation Course, which is specially designed to help foreign students who do not fulfil the requirements for the Undergraduate Programs. The duration of the Course is one year.
The Donetsk National Medical University (DNMU) offers a Medical course in General Medicine (MD / MBBS). This Programme is available in English and Russian language. The duration of the course is 6 years. After completion, the degree awarded is of Doctor of Medicine (MD or MBBS).
