About University of Worcester

The University of Worcester was established in 1946 as an Emergency Teacher Training College after WWII. It is also the only Higher Education Institution in Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

It got its recognition through various official ranking conducting bodies. The University of Worcester is prestigiously ranked within the top 5 for “Quality Education” in the United Kingdom. Moreover, Times Higher Education has ranked the university as a “Reporter” under “World University Rankings” in 2024.

The rate at which the University of Worcester admits students is approximately 80% to 90%. The competition is low for international students and hence it is one of the preferred universities. One must present a good academic background with correct information on the application form to secure easy admission to the university.

One can apply to undergraduate, graduate, and certification courses at the University of Worcester through various modes such as UCAS, Common Application, or directly at the official website of the university. There are no particular application deadlines as provided by the University of Worcester. The Undergraduate applications are accepted from September and last till Early January.

Tuition fee varies as per the college faculty and the level of programme the candidate is enrolled in. 

The estimated undergraduate tuition fee for the year 2024-25 is around GBP 14,500 to GBP 16,200. However, the tuition fee is more for an MBBS equivalent course named as “MBChB" which is nearly GBP 46,500.

The estimated full-time tuition fee for graduate courses in the year 2024-25 ranges from GBP 13,400 to GBP 21,700 per year.

Cost of living 

All international students must have enough money to cover the living expenses and the tuition cost of the programme they are enrolled in.

Generally, the students are required to pay for the course for 1 academic year (up to 9 months). The amount one needs to pay is available on Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) by the University of Worcester.

University of Worcester Admission and Application

The University of Worcester's acceptance rate is impressively between 80% to 90% which provides a good chance for all international applicants to enter the university. Hence, one must comply with all the eligibility criteria as per the programme in order to get selected for admission.

How to apply at the University of Worcester?

The students are provided with various options to apply at the University of Worcester which includes direct apply, UCAS apply, and Common Application apply.

All International and national aspirants are recommended to apply online through UCAS only. University of Worcester Scholarship

The University of Worcester provides a range of scholarships for its international and national students. These scholarships are based on the academic qualifications and background of the students.

All international students are automatically considered for a merit-based scholarship on full-time programmes.

The scholarships which are available for undergraduate international students are as follows:

  • An award of GBP 3,000 is granted to eligible students with a UCAS point score of 144 or equivalent 

  • An award of GBP 2,000 is for students who have a UCAS score of 128 or equivalent

  • An award of GBP 1,000 is granted to students who attain a UCAS score of 112 or equivalent.

There are various merit-based scholarships available for graduate international students as well. These are as follows:

  • An award of GBP 3,000 per year for up to 4 years for a postgraduate research programme is awarded to students who have UK 1st class honours at 2:1 or equivalent

  • An award of GBP 2,000 per year is granted to students with UK 2:2 or equivalent up to 4 years for the postgraduate research programme

For Indians, there are various grants available:

As an undergraduate student, the candidate is eligible if they apply with the following scores in Standard 12th Higher Secondary School Certificate from All India:

  • 60%-69.99% = GBP 1,000 

  • 70%-79.99% = GBP 2,000

  • 80%+ =  GBP 3,000 

The candidates who want to pursue a postgraduate programme at the University of Worcester are eligible only if they have the following scores in their undergraduate degree:

  • 55%-59.99% = GBP 2,000

  • 60%+ = GBP 3,000

University of Worcester Eligibility

The University of Worcester accepts students from around the world who are eligible and meet all the entry requirements laid out by the university. The eligibility criteria vary for an undergraduate and a postgraduate student applicant. The eligibility also varies from country to country 

For undergraduate courses (courses requiring a UCAS tariff range of 96-112), the Indian applicants must have the following qualifications:

  • Candidate must have passed and achieved a Higher Secondary School Certificate

  • A minimum of 60% in Standard XII

  • Candidates must have a 12th Standard score above 65% in English subject Standard 12th 

  • Candidates must have English proficiency scores as per the programme requirement

For postgraduate courses, the following is the minimum requirement for the Indian applicants:

  • Candidates must have passed the Indian Bachelor's degree

  • The minimum score at the Bachelor’s level must be 55% except for the University of Delhi with a minimum of 50%. 

  • English proficiency scores as per the programme requirement must be achieved by the applicants
