About University of Stirling

The University of Stirling is a public university in Stirling, Scotland, established in 1967 by the royal charter. The university campus is approximately 360 acres in size and is located in the foothills of the Ochil Hills. 

It has 5 colleges mainly the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Faculty of Health Sciences and Sport, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Faculty of Social Sciences, and Stirling Management School. 

With more than 100,000 alumni dispersed over 180 countries, the university now has over 18,500 students worldwide, representing more than 140 different nationalities.

The University of Stirling acceptance rate is approximately 20%. The University of Stirling accepts applications for admission to the majority of our master's level courses from students with a valid bachelor's degree with a minimum GPA of 2.7. The tuition fees for the academic year 2023–2024 are INR 7.4 Lakhs (Euro 8,200) for one semester and INR 14.8 Lakhs (Euro 16,400) for the whole academic year. 

Admission to the 2024–2025 academic year of the University of Stirling will no longer require a test until a notice is issued by the University of Stirling. However, if the students are submitting results they must have an ACT score of 26 or a SAT score of at least 1200 for the undergraduate degree programme. International students can attempt English exams such as IELTSTOEFL iBT, PTE, and Cambridge for admission to the undergraduate and graduate programmes of the University of Stirling.

University of Stirling Eligibility

For admission to the first year, a cumulative score of 65% or higher in 12th grade is required for Indian students from state boards. For entry to the second year directly, a cumulative score of 75% or above is required in state boards. Advanced entrance is available to the students from the CBSE/ICSE/metro cities state board students.

For postgraduate studies, a minimum of 50% is required in undergraduate degree if you belong to a tier 1 university such as the University of Delhi, the University of Mumbai, and the University of Calcutta. A minimum of 55% is required if you have an undergraduate degree from a tier 2 university in India.

In 2008, the Scottish Government named Stirling as Scotland's University for Sporting Excellence. Their indoor facilities include a tennis court, a squash court, a gym, and a cycling studio, while their outside facilities include artificial pitches and an athletics track. Olympian swimmers train in their 50-meter swimming pool, which is also open to the general public. Football, golf, swimming, tennis, and triathlon are among the five primary sports where scholarships are offered, enabling student athletes to train for international competition.

The campus of the University of Stirling is located in central Scotland, about two miles from Stirling's city centre. The university is easily reachable by bus, walk, and bike from Stirling city centre, and there are excellent, quick public transportation connections from Glasgow and Edinburgh. There are 480 bicycle parking spaces on campus, and it's simple to ride a bicycle to the Stirling campus, while both Stirling's city centre and the Bridge of Allan are a comfortable stroll from the university.
