About University of Salford

Based in Salford, Greater Manchester, the University of Salford is an English public research institution. With origins stretching back to 1850, the Royal Technical Institute, Salford was established in 1896. By royal charter, the institute was granted university status in 1967. The University of Salford is spread across three campuses: Peel Park, Frederick Road, and MediaCity.

The University of Salford's acceptance rate is approximately 8% which means it is not easy to get admission here. For admission to a postgraduate programme, a minimum of 55% or a CGPA of 5.8 is required. If the students have less score, their work experience or other relevant qualifications may be considered.

The University of Salford tuition fees for international students for the year 2023-24 are between INR 11.8 Lakhs (Euro 12,960) and INR 17.7 Lakhs (Euro 19,530). However, the fees have been increased for the year 2024-25 which is between INR 12.5 Lakhs (Euro 13,750) and INR 18.5 Lakhs (Euro 20,340) depending on the course. All international students are required to pay a fee of INR 5.01 Lakhs (Euro 5,500) as a deposit which then will be adjusted in the tuition fees at the time of admission. 

The students need to qualify in SAT/ACT for admission to the undergraduate programme whereas the GRE/GMAT scores are needed for admission to the postgraduate level of study. All the students who are non-native speakers of English need to demonstrate their English level by attempting IELTS score which is a deciding exam for admission to any programme. 

The University of Salford provides extensive courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Some of the popular courses include Aerospace Engineering, Architecture, Art and Design, Biomedical Science, Built Environment, Biology, Computer Science, and Environment.

University of Salford Accommodation

The University of Salford has two housing villages at Salford, which are overseen by our housing partners, Campus Living Villages (CLV). Located on our Peel Park campus, Peel Park Quarter is situated near the campus store, library, and student's Union. The other is our John Lester and Eddie Colman property, which is next to our Peel Park campus and adjacent to our Frederick Road campus. From Peel Park and Frederick, it is a short bus ride to our UK campus.
